Bangkok to Launch Its First Children’s Picture Book Festival

Local Artists to Shine at Bangkok's First Children's Picture Book Festival

Immerse yourself in a world of colourful pictures and stories at the "Children's Picture Book Festival 2023," which will run from Sept. 24 to Oct. 29, featuring various activities and a wide selection of great reads for all ages at the Thailand Creative Design Center in Bangkok.

Barefoot Banana, a children's literature publication based in Thailand, initiated this book fair in collaboration with the Creative Economy Agency to showcase the works of numerous local artists in the industry, including authors, translators, and illustrators.

Returning us to a sense of childlike wonder, the book fair promises to unveil the enchanting world behind the creation of each children's book. In this immersive experience, Kuthida Rungruekiat, a renowned translator who introduced one of Finland's most celebrated books to the country, leads a unique "Picture Book Translation" event. For just THB450, you can participate in a guided journey through the intricate process of translation.

For the full list of activities and exclusive book signings of artists who will be attending the fair, you can check their Facebook page or visit Barefoot Banana’s website.
