The Peninsula Bangkok Hosts the 'New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran'

Celebrate renewal and rebirth at “New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran,” an immersive art exhibition being held at The Peninsula Bangkok in collaboration with River City Bangkok.
From Apr. 1 to June 30, 2025, the second floor of The Peninsula Bangkok will be serving as the backdrop of an art exhibition featuring the works of 17 contemporary Thai artists and will be the first major art exhibition of the year.
This event reinforces The Peninsula Bangkok’s commitment to supporting Thai artists and showcasing innovative artistic expressions that celebrate Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.
In celebration of the Songkran Festival, Thailand’s traditional New Year, which symbolizes new beginnings and the welcoming of positive energy, “New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran” reflects a theme of renewal. The exhibition showcases the artists’ diverse interpretations of “new beginnings” through creative applications of textures, colors, and materials, giving new perspectives on transformation and change.
These works not only echo moments from the past and present but also offer new outlooks on the idea of transformation.

“New Beginnings: The Spirit of Songkran” is free to the public, welcoming all visitors to experience the beauty of art in person at The Peninsula Bangkok. The Peninsula Bangkok is also pleased to present a special art workshop led by Mr. Supoj Kunanukun to further enrich the Songkran celebrations.
Mr. Supoj Kunanukun is well known for his technique of creating vibrant pigments from natural earth materials collected from different locations. He will lead the workshop, allowing participants to create their own works from his distinctive materials.

The workshop will be held from Apr. 13 to 15, 2025, with limited slots available. Sessions will take place at Thiptara, The Peninsula Bangkok, from 4 to 5 PM, and 5 to 6 PM.
The Peninsula Bangkok continues to harmonize contemporary art into their guest experience, showcasing their dedication to cultural vitality and artistic innovation through initiatives such as “New Beginnings.”
