After being set in Hawaii (season 1) and Italy (season 2), the hit HBO anthology series “The White Lotus” is heading to Thailand for its third season.
“We’ve tried to work in Asia a lot and hopefully, season three will be our chance to make something happen there,” director Mike White told Deadline.
According to White, the third installment might tackle death and spirituality. “The first season, we highlighted money. The second season, sex. I think the third season would be maybe a kind of satirical look at death in Eastern religion,” he said.
As of writing, it is still unknown who will join the cast for the upcoming season or if any of the previous cast members will reprise their roles, as was the case for Jennifer Coolidge in season two.
Produced by HBO, “The White Lotus” is an American black-comedy drama that depicts the dysfunctional relationships of guests and employees of the fictional White Lotus resort.
The show has won several prestigious awards since its first season, including 10 Emmy awards in 2022.
