Over 2,000 Vacancies Await Applicants at Creating New Opportunities Job Fair From Aug. 4-5

More than 2,000 job vacancies will be on offer at the Creating New Opportunities Job Fair happening on Aug. 4-5 at Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai.

The job fair will be organised by the Labour Department (LD) to provide opportunities for a slew of industries, with job vacancies for accounting officer, social media and marketing executive, electronic engineer, security guard, social worker, chemist, chef, and more.

According to a government press release on July 30, about 80% of the vacancies are for full-time positions and come with remuneration that ranges from HK$12,000 to $HK21,000. A Secondary Six education level or lower is required for around 95% of the vacancies, whereas 60% are on offer for those with no work experience.

Forty organisations will take part in the job fair, with 20 of these to conduct recruitment in booths on both days.

Admission is free to the Creating New Opportunities job fair, which will run from 11 AM to 5:30 PM. Interested applicants may submit their applications on the day.
