If you’ve been tuning in to Korean TV or the recently released Netflix reality show “Culinary Class Wars,” then you’re probably familiar with Paik Jong-won, one of South Korea’s beloved celebrity chefs and restaurateurs. And if you’re curious as to why this chef has earned such a reputation, great news! Because he will soon bring his K-BBQ restaurant to Hong Kong!
Saemeul Sikdang, Paik’s all-day Korean barbecue chain is set to delight Hong Kongers with its smokey delights soon, Korean media outlet Chosun Daily said in an exclusive report. According to the report, the restaurant will open in Tsim Sha Tsui, one of Hong Kong’s major tourism hubs, and will span 300 meters across two floors.

A representative from TheBorn Korea, franchisor of Saemeul Sikdang, also told Chosun that the opening is aimed at “bringing authentic Korean flavors to Hong Kong.”
While there’s no news yet on the exact opening date, foodies in the city can look forward to an authentic Korean barbecue experience, featuring exquisite cuts of meat, such as samgyeopsal, moksal, along with the Saemaeul signature Yeoltan Bulgogi.
Diners will also get to enjoy traditional Korean dishes, such as japchae, dolsot bibimbap, kimchi jjigae, cold noodles, jeyuk bokkeum, and seafood pancake, among many others.
Aside from Hong Kong, Saemeul Sikdang has also previously expanded into various countries, such as the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, the United States, Australia, and Vietnam.
