Young Chefs Win Big in 2023 Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau
Foodies, rejoice! The 15th edition of the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony Hong Kong & Macau was held on Apr. 26 inside the Grand Lisboa Palace at the Unesco City of Gastronomy of Macau.
A total of 95 restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau received coveted Michelin stars this year, including 66 one Michelin Stars, 18 two Michelin Stars, and 10 three Michelin Stars.
The celebration of culinary excellence and mouth-watering dishes introduced three new MICHELIN Guide Awards as a new addition to the ceremony, awarded to distinguished individuals in the food space to recognise incredible talent and hard work in the industry.
The Sommelier Award, presented by Perrier Joüet, recognises the skills, knowledge and passion of talent wine experts in the region, was awarded to Jacky Luk from Forum.
The Service Award, celebrating the restaurants with the best service, was given to Kit Li from Sichuan Moon.
While the Young Chef Award, presented by AIA, was won by Steve Lee from Hansik Goo.
The MICHELIN Green Star, instituted to highlight restaurants at the forefront of the industry for their sustainable practices, was awarded to restaurants that not only offer culinary excellence, but also strive to make a positive impact on the environment.
