Celebrate the 65th anniversary of "The Sound of Music," one of Broadway's most beloved family musicals, as it makes its Hong Kong premiere at the Grand Theatre, Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District from April 16 to June 9, 2024. This International Tour, produced by Broadway International Group and co-presented by CAEG, features the heartwarming story of Maria and the Von Trapp family, set against the backdrop of pre-WWII Austria.
Audiences will be treated to timeless classics such as "Do-Re-Mi," "Climb Ev’ry Mountain," "Edelweiss," and "My Favourite Things," performed live. This original production captivates with its tale of love, courage, and the transformative power of music, promising an unforgettable experience for all ages.
Performances run Tuesday to Friday at 7:30 PM, with weekend matinees and varying evening times. The show lasts approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. Suitable for audiences aged five and above, this production is performed in English with Chinese surtitles.
