Explore the delicate intricacies of identity, desire, and human emotion at Yan Jingzhou’s solo exhibition "Love Is Love," on view from July 3 to Aug. 12, 2025, at Wong Chuk Hang Space, Tang Contemporary Art Hong Kong. Curated by Sherry Wang, this striking exhibition presents a series of paintings and installations that bridge absurdist theatre with modern literature, weaving a tapestry of surreal characters and poignant moments.

Anchored by the recurring figure of "Buster," Yan’s works transform everyday life — checkout counters, sandcastles, and swimming pools — into rich soliloquies exploring the beauty and fragility of coexistence. Through vivid compositions and satirical undertones, pieces like "Buster Table," "Fake Nirvana™," and "Thumbs Up Means Yes" dissect themes of political power, emotional crisis, and the subtle chaos of modern identity.

Yan, a Beijing-based artist born in 1995, uses the lens of “Buster” not for entertainment, but to provoke thought, leaving viewers suspended between laughter and silence. This emotionally charged exhibition invites audiences to witness love as a quiet force that exists amidst contradiction — needing no definition, only recognition.
