Affordable Art Fair Returns to Hong Kong May 16-19: Show Highlights to Know

PSA, art enthusiasts! Prepare to immerse yourself in four days of art extravaganza, as the Affordable Art Fair is gearing up for its return to Hong Kong next month.

Happening from May 16 to 19 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Affordable Art Fair 2024 will feature thousands of artworks, all priced under HK$100,000. This year also marks the fair’s 11th edition in Hong Kong.

This year, the fair will showcase the city’s contemporary art through numerous exhibitions, installation art, live painting sessions, workshops, and many more exciting experiences.

There will also be three new add-on activities for all visitors to enjoy, including the Art Consultant Service (HK$1,000), which encompasses a one-hour personalized one-to-one art consultancy service for both new and seasoned art collectors. The service includes a guided tour across the fair and tips on framing and storage, among others.

There’s also something for the little ones with the Art Loop Children’s Art Tour (HK$250) Here, kids aged four to 12 can join a one-hour immersion course where they can create their own artwork and hop on a guided fair tour.

A speakeasy bar experience also awaits at the Speakeasy Bar Neon (HK$220), featuring a cocktail designed by former Head Sommelier and Beverage Director of Yardbird and RONIN, Kiyoshi Hoshimi-Caines, accompanied with artworks by artist Jonathan Jay Lee.

Other attractions to look forward to at the event include the performance art “Chrysalis,” the “Season’s Change” installation by Ewan David Eason, and the “Ink Flows” exhibit by Chinese artists Cai Tianmei, Li Dongyao, Yi Pang, Zhang Bin, and Liu Jia.
