Wah Fu Estate Redevelopment Enters 1st Phase, Rehoming Scheduled for 2026
Announced on March 14, Housing Authority has provided an update on the phased clearance and redevelopment plans for Wah Fu Estate, along with relevant rehousing arrangements.
The proposed redevelopment and clearance plan is organized into three phases and will focus on five sites in Pok Fu Lam South alongside the existing Wah Fu Estate. Due to technical issues, adjustments to the project dates have been made.
Phase one's Wah King Street site will now be divided into two subphases: Phase 1a and Phase 1b.
The clearance and rehousing arrangements for Phase 1a have been announced, covering Wah On House and Wah Lok House. Approximately 900 affected households will be accommodated in the nearby Wah King Street site, with anticipated intake by the end of 2026.
Affected domestic tenants will receive a removal allowance based on household size, along with the option to receive a singleton or doubleton allowance instead of rehousing.
Moving forward, Phase 1b's intake date remains unchanged, while Phase 2 is set to occur from 2030 to 2031, and Phase 3's schedules remain as planned for 2040 to 2041.
Overall, the redevelopment plan aims to provide approximately 21,120 flats upon completion, increasing the number of flats in Wah Fu Estate from 9,200 to 12,200. To ensure effective communication and assistance, a community service team will be stationed on-site to support affected households throughout the process.
