Tesla to Officially Debut in Malaysia in July
Tesla, the luxury electric vehicle (EV) maker helmed by Elon Musk, will officially launch in Malaysia on July 20, as reported by multiple media outlets.
No further details have been revealed as of this writing, including which models will be sold in the Malaysian branch.
But the EV maker also received the green light from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia to import Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in the country, as announced by MITI Minister Tengku Zafrul.
“Tesla will establish a Head Office, Tesla Experience & Service Centres, and Supercharger network, simultaneously creating skilled & better paying jobs for M'sians,” the post read.
More details about the launch are expected to be released soon.
In efforts to expand its footprint across Asia, the EV maker will also open the first Tesla Center in Thailand this month.
