Condo Overview
Size: 31 square meters, one-bedroom unit
Interior designer: Idr. Jackson Cue (@interiorsbyjack | [email protected])
Style: Modern and complemented with natural wood tones
Location: Quezon City
Living in the city can be exhausting, so coming home to a space that’s airy and welcoming is a must. The owner of this condo unit in Quezon City wanted a hotel-like home that’s inviting while also maximizing the available space by adding enough storage.
To fulfill these wishes and ensure the condo unit maintains a spacious feel, interior designer Jackson Cue worked his design magic. He implemented a modern theme that harmonizes with the natural wood tones present in the space. Following the renovation, the owner now enjoys a bright and cozy urban sanctuary to retreat to at the end of the day.
The Space
Entryway
As with many condo units, the space has a narrow and compact hallway from the door to the main living space. To make it functional, the designer installed a full-sized mirror to create an illusion of space and paired it with a slim shoe cabinet.
Living Area
A sofa bed that can be used by guests define the living area. Instead of adding a coffee table, the designer paired it with a side table instead. This option not only makes the area more spacious; it can also be easily moved when not in use.
Dining Area
Just beside the living area is the compact dining nook furnished with a square dining table that can be extended to accommodate guests. To maximize the vertical space, an open shelf was also installed in the dining area where books, décor pieces, and other collectibles can be displayed.
Kitchen
According to the designer, the kitchen was reconfigured and extended to allow the owner to prepare meals and give her plenty of storage. Since the owner didn’t want to allot space for a washing machine, the designer extended the corner low cabinet to create an appliance shelf.

Bedroom (Bedroom 1)
Despite the size of the bedroom, the designer was able to fit a bed for two, a wardrobe cabinet, and storage cabinets. The light color palette makes the room even more inviting and look bigger than it really is.
(Bedroom 2)
In the bedroom, the owner has the option to use a foldable table when working from home. It can be easily folded away when not in use to avoid obstructing the space in the bedroom.
Bathroom
The bathroom underwent an overhaul as the designer changed the tiles, added a frameless shower enclosure, and installed additional lights. These changes helped create a brighter private space with a more spacious feel. A wall storage with mirror was also added, and the sink was changed to accommodate an extra low cabinet.
From the designer:
In maximizing condo units, use the available vertical space. Be strategic in installing hanging cabinets and shelves. You can also opt for custom-made cabinets as these ensure the cabinets will fit the space. Lastly, choose multipurpose or foldable furniture pieces like a foldable working table, sofa beds, and a bed frame with hidden storage compartments, among others.
