You Can Now Pay Through GCash in Markets With Quezon City’s ‘Paleng-QR’
The local government of Quezon City has joined forces with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to launch the “Paleng-QR” PH plus program to bring e-payment options to markets and tricycles for a more convenient transaction.
Launching the project in Project 4 Public Market this month, officials from the QC Market Development and Administration Department (MDAD), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and GCash visited the market to introduce the new mode of payment to market vendors and tricycle drivers to include them in the digital payment ecosystem.
The government also ensures stable internet connectivity, with more than 3,500 GoWifi hotspots spread across the city where citizens can connect and do online transfers in stores.
The program is in line with the government’s initiative for everyone’s inclusion, including small businesses, to join the digital financial inclusion.
