New Fast-Casual Japanese Restaurant ‘Torijin’ Coming to Shaw Centre

If you love Japanese food, you’re going to want to sit down for this!
Les Amis Group is opening a new restaurant with a “fast-casual Japanese concept” on Oct. 1 at Shaw Centre.
A no pork, no lard eatery, Torijin, (tori is the Japanese term for ‘chicken’) is a chicken donburi and ramen restaurant launched by the F&B company behind brands like threeMichelin-starredrestaurant Les Amis, Peperoni Pizzeria, and tart specialist Tarte by Cheryl Koh. The 40-seater will offer donburi, ramen, and chicken side dishes, and will be taking over the former spot of its cousin, Tenjin, Les Amis’ brand specializing in tempura donburi that has moved to the first floor of the mall.
The dishes were conceived by Japanese Chef Kawasaki Shimpei, the Executive Chef behind Les Amis Group’s two other Japanese brands, Sushi Jin and Tenjin.Their slurp-worthy ramen comes with several house-made broth options, including Tori Shoyu and Shio Yuzu, simmered with more flavorful mature hens, Hokkaido rishiri kombu, ginger and leeks. There’s also a creamy chicken paitan broth cooked with root veggies and mushrooms.
And if you think something so delicious must come at a steep cost, you’re wrong! Prices are quite affordable with signature ramen picks below S$15 a bowl such as the Tori Shoyu (S$12.80), Shio Yuzu (S$13.80) and Paitan (S$14.80). Each bowl comes with thin Hakata-style noodles, house-made chicken chashu, menma (Japanese bamboo shoots), runny-yolk aji tamago and nori sheets.
Add-on toppings are also available for S$2 a portion. Elevate the dish by topping it off with some Sweet Corn or Torched Mozzarella. Talk about yum!
On the other hand, our donburi picks are the Tori Chashu Don ($12.80) and Tori Karaage Don ($12.80) which will satisfy any rice lover. Similar to the ramen selection, you can also opt to add toppings. We’d recommended the Tartar Mayonnaise.
Dining at Torjin wouldn’t be complete without getting a bite of their juicy chicken dishes. Their featured sides include Truffle Corn (S$2), fruit juice-marinated Tori Karaage (S$6.80 for three pcs) and Tori Gyoza (S$4.80 for three pcs) stuffed with chicken, cabbage and garlic chives. It’s juicy, flavorful, and is the perfect pairing for your main dishes.
And ICYDK, diners at Torijin can enjoy one-for-one Tori Karaage and Tori Gyoza from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 as part of their month-long opening promo!
