Get into the Christmas Spirit in SG With These 2022 Festive Markets, Fairs

Apart from the songs, merriment, decorations, and Christmas trees, another aspect that many love and look forward to during the Yuletide season is... shopping!
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without exchanging or giving gifts to loved ones (and ourselves, let's be real), so much so that there's even a term, albeit stemmed from the West, for the tradition: Secret Santa!
If you're hankering to look for gifts, bites, and knickknacks for family and friends (and yourself!) this Christmas, a slew of festive markets and fairs will be popping up in Singapore come the end of November and the month of December 2022 for all shoppers. Here are five markets and fairs you should check out!
Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay
Christmas Wonderland is one of Singapore's most famous year-end events. First established in 2014, Christmas Wonderland has gone on to attract almost five million visitors. This year, it will be making its comeback at the Gardens by the Bay from Dec. 2-Jan. 1, 2023.
This Yuletide event will be jam-packed with fun activities, from carnival games, festival treats, and a carousel to a light and sound show, and shopping for gifts for loved ones. If you want to experience a white Christmas, you can go to Merry Lane's Snowland, one of the event's activity zones, where you can sight an igloo, polar bears, and fluffy "snow." Tickets to Christmas Wonderland are priced at S$8.
Location: Christmas Wonderland, Gardens by the Bay, 18 Marina Gardens Drive
Chinatown Festive Market
Expect a ton of food, gifts, and more at the Chinatown Festive Market along Pagoda Street at Chinatown happening on Dec. 17 and 18 from 11 AM to 8 PM. In the past, Chinatown also had Christmas markets and workshops amid the festive season, with many of the markets hawking appeal, accessories, snacks, jewellery, keychains and so much more.

Crane's Annual Xmas Market
Conscious living community space Crane will be back this year with its annual Xmas Market! The Crane Xmas Market will also see an impressive lineup of vendors and creators along Joo Chiat Road on Dec. 3 and 4. Shop and be merry as the brands participating in the event include beauty, arts, fashion, home, lifestyle, and wellness.
Location: Crane XMas Market, 285 Joo Chiat Road.
The Great Christmas Village
Be merry and indulge yourself in fun, food, arts, and music with Orchard Road's Great Christmas Village this 2022. Apart from showcasing the city-state's first ever white carousel, there will also be more rides and new attractions in store for people, as well as lots of special food items from local producers. Those who love alcohol will also love the Great Christmas Village's beer garden. This is the Christmas Village's first return to the public after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic! Catch it from Dec. 7-Jan. 2, 2023!
Location: The Great Christmas Village, Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza
A Universal Christmas

A Universal Christmas, a festival carnival celebration, is coming to the fore at the Universal Studios Singapore on Nov. 23 and will run to the public until Jan. 2, 2023. You and your loved ones can go and witness Santa's Circus Extravaganza, an ensemble with 42 performers, which showcases locally made magical floats for the first time in two years. This should be offered beginning Nov. 30 at 7:30 PM. Guests can also enjoy the festival circus acts by performers and meet-and-greet with some of the most popular stars, as well as snack on goodies from Santa's Wonderful Treat and Santa's Dessert Cart.
