Weekly Shōnen Jump
Weekly Shōnen Jump is a weekly shonen manga anthology by Shueisha under the Jump line of magazines, with the first issue being released on August 1, 1968.
The manga series serialized in the magazine are usually under the shōnen genre, which target adolescent boys and young men. Shōnen focuses on action and adventure, with numerous fight scenes. It is also the most popular editorial category in the Japanese market, which include shōjo (adolescent girls and young women), seinen (young adults and adult men), and josei (adult women).
Many of the best-selling manga series worldwide, including the 2000s “big three”– One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach – originate from Weekly Shōnen Jump.
