Airbnb Transforms Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse into Lifesize Paradise for Rent

Airbnb has magically breathed life into the iconic Barbie's Malibu Dreamhouse, presenting an all-pink paradise right on the sun-kissed shores of western Malibu, California.

This miniature world turned life-size dollhouse, once celebrated for Barbie's 60th anniversary in 2019, now bears a distinctive "Kenergy," following a recent refurbishment commemorating Barbie's live-action debut in a film by Greta Gerwig, starring Margot Robbie.

This vibrant oceanfront property brims with creative flourishes coming straight out of the film adaptation, exuding the charm of both Barbie and Ken. The life-sized toy dollhouse is listed on Airbnb as if it was written by Ken himself.

“Now, guests can live it up Ken-style for a neon night in Barbie Land – six-pack not included,” jokes the plastic hunk in the property’s “About” section.

One of the unique features is a Western-themed bedroom. Bathed in pink hues, it boasts cowhide rugs, cowboy hats, horse-printed throws, and even a closet brimming with Ken's fringed cowboy shirts and his guitar.

Still, Barbie's fashion legacy permeates the house. Visitors will discover her iconic high-heeled pink shoe decorated with a fluffy poof, alongside other stylish props from the Barbie film.

Further adding to the charm, an outdoor disco dance floor with a DJ deck awaits guests on one of the many terraces, decorated in the whimsical colours of pink, purple, and yellow. A bright-pink outdoor lounging area, an outdoor, a pink al fresco kitchen with a barbecue, and an infinity pool complete the astonishing dreamhouse.

Upon check-in, guests will be taken on a tour around the property by the on-site concierge, followed by a series of meals and excursions around the neighbourhood that’s just perfect for sun, surfing, and shopping.

Guests are also challenged by property host Ken to learn a line dance on the disco floor or learn a sunset guitar serenade, battle the neighbours in a “beach off” filled with sunbathing and relaxation, as well as take home a piece of the movie by bringing Ken’s yellow and pink Impala skates and surfboard with them.

Available for booking on July 21 and 22, 2023, Ken cordially invites two guests at a time into Barbie's Dreamhouse. The cost? Nothing at all, as "Ken couldn't figure out how to put a price on Barbie's Malibu DreamHouse," quips Airbnb.

In a noble gesture to match the occasion, Airbnb will make a one-time donation to Save the Children to celebrate the Barbie movie, reflecting the ethos of Barbie – empowering young girls with the resources and confidence to excel. Just as Barbie always has, this lifelike Malibu Dreamhouse continues to inspire dreams and create magical memories for those lucky enough to step inside.
