The search is on! HBO and Firefly Casting have announced a global talent search for two roles in HBO's "Crazy Rich Asians : The Series," with submissions accepted through Nov. 30, 2026.
Open to talent worldwide, the casting notice says all submissions will be reviewed and considered regardless of ethnic group, sex, and other characteristics unless a specific requirement is indicated in the breakdown. Applicants do not need to learn or memorize lines before an interview or audition. Interested performers can find submission instructions posted online via this link.
The two roles currently listed are Posy and William. Posy is described as an East Asian woman in her 30s: beautiful, glamorous, and unapologetically ambitious. A former socialite and social climber, she is navigating the collapse of her marriage to a notorious tycoon. The character is flamboyant, shameless and hungry for wealth, status, and attention, but also calculating and oddly endearing. The casting notice says the performer should be fluent in English and familiar with Mandarin.
William, meanwhile, is a Chinese man in his 20s and the charismatic, handsome, and wildly wealthy son of a Shanghai real estate billionaire. He is described as a charming, thrill-seeking "princeling" with a mischievous streak and larger-than-life personality. Beneath his carefree exterior, however, he is open-hearted, warm, and eager for connection. The role calls for fluency in English and conversational Mandarin.
Deadline for submission is Nov. 30, 2026.
