BTS’ Jung Kook Announced First Documentary Film Premiering on Sept. 18

Be still, our ARMY hearts! Jung Kook of the Grammy-nominated pop group, BTS, just announced his first-ever documentary film!
The global pop sensation took to social media last Aug. 14, dropping a sweet video message for his fans while introducing his official documentary titled, “I AM STILL.” The film will hit theatres worldwide on Sept. 18.
Jeon Jung Kook, more popularly known as “Jung Kook,” rose to fame as a solo artist with his debut pop hit “Seven (feat. Latto)” in July 2023. Backed by the support of his ever-loyal fans from his days as the “Golden Maknae” (a term used by ARMY to pertain to his unwavering talent and position as the youngest member) of BTS, his debut received much success and he became the first Asian solo artist to top the Billboard HOT 100, Global 200, and Global 200 Excl. US charts.
His succeeding singles “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” and “Standing Next to You” also topped global charts and built up to his first solo album "GOLDEN," which made history by staying on the Billboard 200 for 24 consecutive weeks.
Through his promotions, Jung Kook has also been active on social media, staying connected with his beloved ARMY, and even released a heartfelt single called, "Never Let Go" as a present to the fans during the group’s FESTA (anniversary event) celebrations last June. Just goes to show why we love him Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — seven days a week! *wink wink*
The Golden Maknae is indeed the golden boy of today’s music scene known for his incredible talent as seen from his music and promotions. Watching his climb to becoming a global superstar has been a treat for ARMY who have been there since his early years; who grew up alongside him as he continuously delivered show-stopping performances and incredible music, all the while remaining down to earth and generous to his fans.
This film highlights just that, capturing his eight-month journey working on his album and features never-before-seen interviews, live concert performances, and behind-the-scenes footage of Jung Kook's remarkable rise to fame and heartfelt moments with ARMY around the world.
“Starting with my first official solo track, ‘Seven (feat. Latto)’ and throughout my promos for my studio album, 'GOLDEN,' I had a year filled with golden moments of happiness thanks to all the love that you gave me,” the singer expressed in his announcement.
“For me, ‘GOLDEN’ was a series of continuous new challenges, the long journey that led up to a long album filled with songs of diverse genres. All the moments I connected with ARMY from all around the world through music and the many behind-the-scenes stories that I didn’t get the chance to share. It tells the full story of Jung Kook as a solo artist.”
Global tickets go on sale Aug. 21 (6 AM PDT/9 AM EDT) while tickets for South Korea and Japan go on sale Sept. 4 and 13, respectively. You can sign up here for updates.
