Winners of the ninth edition of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026 were announced yesterday at The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok, leaving us pleasantly surprised by the fresh developments. Thailand's vibrant and ever-evolving food scene, now brimming with a record number of MICHELIN Stars, casts a brilliant spotlight on the nation, further solidifying its status on the global gastronomic stage.
The MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026 edition revealed an eagerly anticipated full restaurant selection, showcasing a total of 468 dining venues. This includes 2 Three MICHELIN Stars (with one restaurant promoted from Two MICHELIN Stars), 8 Two MICHELIN Stars (two of which were promoted from One MICHELIN Star), 33 One MICHELIN Star restaurants (three newcomers and four promoted from MICHELIN Selected), 137 Bib Gourmand establishments (13 newcomers), and 288 MICHELIN Selected venues (50 newcomers).
Adding to the excitement, this year introduced a remarkable new accolade: the MICHELIN Guide Mentor Chef Award, recognizing chefs who are passionately committed to nurturing the next generation of culinary talent.
Sühring Wins Big

A major highlight of the afternoon ceremony was the announcement that Sühring had joined the prestigious Three Michelin Star family. Sühring became one of only two restaurants in Thailand to receive this honor, alongside Sorn, the first restaurant in the country to earn three MICHELIN Stars. The twin chefs, Thomas and Mathias Sühring, were both surprised and overjoyed by the announcement.
Sühring's journey began with its inclusion in the inaugural 2018 edition of The MICHELIN Guide Thailand, where it received One MICHELIN Star. The following year, it was promoted to Two MICHELIN Stars, and in the 2026 edition, it achieved the coveted Three MICHELIN Stars. This accomplishment reflects Sühring's dedication to elevating German cuisine in Thailand to world-class standards.
By incorporating traditional techniques such as fermenting, pickling, and curing into contemporary fine dining, the restaurant successfully blends nostalgia with precision. This commitment to consistency, refinement, and soulful artistry earned Sühring's first three MICHELIN Stars.

In the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Thailand edition, an impressive total of eight restaurants have been honored with Two MICHELIN Stars, including two newcomers promoted from the One MICHELIN Star category: Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie and INDDEE.
Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie is a contemporary French gastronomic haven where Chef Anne-Sophie Pic joins forces with her esteemed Japanese Head Chef, Tamaki Kobayashi. Together, they craft an exquisite menu that showcases signature creations, featuring the celebrated lobster dish and the thoughtfully curated Voyage menu, which promises a culinary adventure like no other.
Meanwhile, INDDEE invites diners on a captivating culinary journey through India, offering a thoughtfully designed set menu of around 10 courses, each steeped in meaning. Dishes such as Carabinero, which pays homage to the vibrant flavors of Goa, Pickled Vegetables that capture the harsh beauty of the Himalayan winter, and Patra with Hokkaido Scallops, reflecting the chef’s Japanese culinary expertise, are complemented by a selection of exquisite wine pairings.
Moreover, Baan Tepa, Chef’s Table, Côte by Mauro Colagreco, Gaa, Mezzaluna, and R-Haan proudly earned the Two Michelin Stars.
7 New Restaurants joined the One MICHELIN Star family

This year, a total of 33 restaurants were awarded the One MICHELIN star, which included seven new entries. Among the newcomers, three restaurants made their debut in the Guide, while the remaining four were promoted from MICHELIN Selected.
The new entries include Bo.lan, a beloved Thai restaurant that offers a menu rooted in traditional recipes, sourcing rare regional produce from small farmers to explore the heritage of Thai cuisine through meticulous techniques.
Also making waves in its inaugural year is Cannubi by Umberto Bombana, an Italian gem celebrated for its thoughtfully curated set lunch menu and an exquisite full dinner tasting experience. Each dish is a harmonious blend of classical roots and modern innovation, promising a delightful feast for the senses.
Furthermore, etcha, which opened its doors earlier this year, offers a truly captivating "borderless dining" experience. This innovative restaurant combines European culinary techniques with the vibrant flavors of Thai ingredients, presenting diners with an extraordinary 11-course "360°" tasting menu and an enticing eight-course "180°" option, both showcasing seasonal local produce crafted with finesse and a deep respect for the distinctive flavors of the region.

The four restaurants that have been promoted from MICHELIN selection include Gaggan, Juksunchae, Nusara, and Sushi Saito.
Gaggan is back on the scene, earning its One Michelin Star. Known for its theatrical and progressive Indian cuisine, this restaurant offers a multi-sensory dining experience that focuses on surprise, bold flavors, and guest interaction. Meanwhile, Juksunchae has made history as the first Korean restaurant in Thailand to receive a star. It features an intriguing omakase menu that reimagines traditional Korean flavors through delicate, sophisticated, and visually striking dishes, such as Octopus Tubu Jjigae, Truffle Mandu, and Crab Bibimbap.
As Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn accepted his award for Le Du — an establishment that has proudly held a One MICHELIN Star since 2019 — he was pleasantly surprised to learn that Nusara had also joined the elite ranks. Nusara offers a journey of flavors with welcome bites and standout dishes like Thai Wagyu stir-fry with holy basil, complemented by a quartet of regional relishes.
Finally, we have Sushi Saito, an exquisite establishment led by acclaimed sushi master Takashi Saito. Known for its masterful Edomae-style sushi crafted with traditional Edo-period techniques, Sushi Saito takes pride in sourcing the freshest seafood, flown in from Japan several times a week.
The One MICHELIN star awardees included several restaurants in Bangkok: 80/20, Aksorn, AVANT, Blue by Alain Ducasse, Chim by Siam Wisdom, Coda, Elements, Inspired by Ciel Bleu, GOAT, Haoma, IGNIV, Jay Fai, Le Du, Maison Dunand, Mia, Nahm, NAWA, Potong, Resonance, Samrub Samrub Thai, Saneh Jaan, Signature, and Wana Yook. Additionally, the awardees included AKKEE and Suan Thip from Nonthaburi, as well as Aulis in Phang-Nga and PRU from Phuket.
Green Star Wins for Sustainability

The Green Star initiative continued to flourish this year, shining a spotlight on excellence in sustainability and championing environmentally conscious dining.
This year, GOAT, a One MICHELIN Star restaurant specializing in contemporary Thai cuisine, joined the MICHELIN Green Star community, bringing the total number of recognized restaurants committed to mindful practices to five. GOAT captivates with its dedication to thoughtful cooking that showcases Thailand’s rich natural diversity. Furthermore, their meticulous approach to sustainable furniture and ingredient sourcing truly sets them apart, earning them the distinction of being the only new addition to impress the Michelin inspectors this year.
The prestigious MICHELIN Green Star was also proudly retained by Baan Tepa and Haoma from Bangkok, alongside Jampa and PRU from Phuket, all of which continue to impress the inspectors with their commitment to sustainability.

The MICHELIN Guide continues its efforts to celebrate food and beverage talents by highlighting skilled professionals in MICHELIN-recommended restaurants who elevate the dining experience to new heights. This year, four special awards were presented: the Young Chef Award, Opening of the Year Award, Guide Service Award, and, for the first time ever, the Guide Mentor Chef Award.
A wonderful surprise this year was the MICHELIN Guide Young Chef Award, which was awarded to Mr. Suwijak Kunghae, the owner-chef of Royd, a MICHELIN-selected restaurant in Phuket.
The MICHELIN Guide Opening of the Year Award was presented to Wilfrid Hocquet, Owner-Chef of Margo. For the discerning traveler seeking more than just a beachfront villa, Banyan Tree Krabi offers a curated experience that’s now MICHELIN-approved.
Awarded Two Keys by the MICHELIN Guide Thailand for the second-year running, the resort blends architectural elegance, wellness innovation, and culinary artistry into one unforgettable stay.
Courtesy of Banyan Tree Krabi
The MICHELIN Key system, introduced in 2024, mirrors the famed Star ratings for restaurants but applies to hotels. This year, only 21 properties across Thailand earned Two Keys, placing Banyan Tree Krabi among the country’s most distinguished destinations. The Guide’s criteria include architecture and design, service quality, character, value, and community impact, areas where Banyan Tree Krabi continues to shine.
And in September 2025, the resort’s Rainforest Spa, the region’s first luxury hydrotherapy facility, was honored with both a Thailand Tourism Outstanding Award and a Sustainability Award in the Health and Wellness category. MICHELIN described the spa as “where tropical serenity meets holistic wellness,” a fitting tribute to its immersive, rejuvenating experience.
