Turn Up the Heat! Kimpton Maa-Lai’s Chilli Fest Makes Its Return this April

It’s only going to get hotter in Bangkok this April.
The popular Chilli Fest is once again happening at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok on Apr. 5, 2025. This annual, fiery hot festival brings all the top chefs and restaurants from all over Bangkok and Thailand all in the name of chilli, with exclusive chilli-inspired dishes up for tasting!
Now in its third edition, the Chilli Fest is promising an even spicier experience with 14 of Thailand’s top restaurants and famed chefs offering their spiciest bites for tasting, and a lot fierier entertainment and festivities lined up!
Famed chefs and restaurants are all lined up to give you an experience that’s both savory and scorching hot for your taste buds. For example, ZAABNIRAN’s Chef Ton will be serving up robust and spicy flavors with three types of Thai chillies in their signature Mixed Dry Noodles, ANJU’s Chef Shim will be showcasing a fresh take on traditional Korean flavors with their Buldak Sotteok-Sotteok and Mala Chicken, and 80/20’s Chef Tav will be showing how he fuses Thai flavors with modern techniques with his Red Curry with Chicken and Jasmine Rice and Pig Cheeks & Trotter Larb Nuggets.
Other restaurants, such as Ministry of Crab, Rangoon Tea House, Sababa, Sabio, and more will also be showcasing culinary favorites from other countries and cultures.
The highlight of the festival is the Chilli Eating Contest, where the bravest of the brave (or the ones that love pain) are invited to join in! Basically, contestants must show their resolve and eat hot chilli peppers whose spice level will go up to 2,200,000 Scoville heat units. The last one standing will be the ultimate winner. Those interested can sign up here!
Attendees can also cool down with some creative cocktails, artisanal craft beers and liquers, and more!
From 2 PM to 9 PM, spice enthusiasts can enjoy live music, DJ sets, exclusive merch, hot chilli products, and more! They can even get free chilli tattoos by California Ink Bangkok, too!
Bar.Yard will also be hosting an after-party to keep the heat from the festival going.
Don’t miss out on all the spicy fun and join in the Chilli Fest 2025! Entry fee is THB300.
