Heat, Spice, and Everything Nice at Thailand's First Chilli Fest on May 27

Chilli Fest Thailand

Thailand's upcoming Chilli Fest is also its first ever – and it's one event that lovers of heat, flavour, spice, and everything nice should not skip!

Five-star hotel Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok shared the event by teasing many exciting activities, from dishes by Michelin-calibre chefs and famous restaurants to a chilli-eating competition, free chilli tattoos, a fire show, DJ sets and live bands, gourmet hot sauce for sale, and more! The Chilli Fest will be held on May 27 at the hotel from 2 PM-9 PM.

Enjoy beloved spicy street food faves from pepper capitals Mexico, India, China, Chile, Indonesia, and Thailand, which will be whipped up by chefs from upscale restos like chef Deepanker Khosla of Michelin-starred Haoma, who will bring Chupe de Jaiba (THB150), Peruvan Fish Ceviche (THB150), and Chilean Salmon Tiradito (THB100) to the table. Some other chefs include chef Thitid "Ton" Tassanakajohn and his Khao Ka Pao Nua (THB150) and Khao Soi Gai (THB150), Iron Chef Thailand challenger chef Supasit "Top" Kokpop's fish balls, Charcoal Grilled Cuttlefish, and Mango Burnt Chilli Shaved Ice, chef Toi Pilaipon Kamnang of Saneh Jaan with dishes like Khao Mun Som Tum, Gung Pad Prik Ki Nu Suan, and so much more.

You can then cap off this spicy affair with handcrafted ice cream from Two to Tipsy by Roast, with a special chilli recipe created for the Chilli Fest.

For the brave and masochistic who are willing to devour hot peppers with up to 2,200,000 Scoville heat units, the free chilli-eating competition will be there to test your mettle.

The winner will receive a grand cash prize of THB10,000, while the first and second placers will get dining vouchers worth THB7,000 and THB4,000.

The entry fee is priced at THB150 and comes with a free drink. You can grab early-bird tickets for only THB100. Go here for more information about the Chilli Fest.
