This update introduces several highly requested improvements. The enhanced autocorrect feature now allows you to undo a correction with a single tap, saving you time and frustration. Setting multiple timers is now possible, offering greater convenience in managing your tasks. Furthermore, you can personalise your phone call experience, choosing how you view your contacts when they call you.

Sharing contact information through AirDrop has also been streamlined in iOS 17. By simply bringing your iPhone closer to another iPhone, the transfer process becomes quicker and more efficient.

One exciting addition is the new StandBy Mode. When you flip your phone horizontally while it's charging, it enters a new interface displaying a clock, calendar, digital photo frame, or customisable widget smart stacks. You can tailor this interface to suit your preferences.

The Messages app has received an update that makes conversations more fun and interactive. You now have easy access to all your stickers, including those you downloaded from third-party apps.

Additionally, you can create your own custom stickers from your photos to send in texts. The in-message search and filters have also been improved, along with audio message transcriptions.

Video calls are taken to the next level with added effects that can be triggered by specific hand movements on your front camera. These effects can also be used in downloaded apps like Zoom for users of iPhone 12 and newer models.

In FaceTime, you now have the option to leave a video or audio message if the recipient misses your call. Additionally, you can seamlessly handle calls on your Apple TV, using your iPhone as the camera.

Apple has prioritised user safety by introducing the "Check In" feature, which automatically notifies someone from your contact list when you reach your designated location. You can also download maps offline for navigation in areas with limited Wi-Fi or cellular signal, with full functionality and traffic history-based estimated time of arrival.
