Fuiyoh! Comedian Uncle Roger Teases First Restaurant in Malaysia This Year
Uncle Roger’s “nieces and nephews” have something to look forward to this year, as the Malaysian comedian and YouTuber will be opening his very first restaurant in Malaysia soon!
The London-based comedian made the announcement in a 16-minute YouTube video posted on July 1, which featured himself reacting to an episode of the late American chef Anthony Bourdain’s travels to Penang in the TV show “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.”
Around the middle of the video, the Internet sensation revealed that he will be opening his restaurant “later this year.”
“By the way, another reason to go [to] Malaysia. Uncle Roger [is] actually gonna open my very first restaurant over there. Fuiyoh! Coming soon later this year, but shh, don’t tell anyone this little secret. [It’s] just for loyal nieces and nephews watching this video,” he said.
There are no further details yet about the restaurant, including the exact opening date, but we may expect Asian dishes to be included on the menu.
Nigel Ng, better known for his Internet persona Uncle Roger, who represents a middle-aged Asian uncle, became known on the Internet for his strong yet comedic criticism of people attempting to cook Asian food. He is also embarking on a tour from September to October this year, “Nigel Ng: The Haiyaa World Tour,” with stops in New Delhi, Dubai, and Taipei.
Watch out for Uncle Roger’s restaurant opening by following him on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and TikTok, or subscribing to his YouTube channel.
