10 Thrift Stores in KL for Your Sustainability and Secondhand Shopping

HEADER KL Thrift Stores

Thrifting has gone beyond the saving-money stuff. With sustainability becoming a front-and-centre topic these days, buying secondhand clothes jumped from the shadows to the fore.

It’s much less about the “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” stuff, and more about not letting perfectly good clothes go to waste. On that point, how many stories have we heard about people finding absolute gems while thrifting?

There’s really way too much good in secondhand shopping that it’s hard to pass on it. Should you find yourself wandering in Kuala Lumpur and wondering where to find preloved goods, here are 10 places in the city that you should keep in mind.

Refash

You can’t talk about thrifting in Kuala Lumpur without mentioning Refash. The OG pre-loved clothes store is going strong, and advocating more thrifting now that sustainability is at the forefront of fashion conversations. Wide selections, nice staff, and unbeatable prices, this is where you go if you want to refresh your rotation without spending a lot.

Location: Refash, JUMPA LGP09 COLLAB STORE @ Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur

Jalan Jalan Japan

Not all shopping days have to be about clothes, you know? This where Jalan Jalan Japan (JJJ) excels at, but fret not, their clothing options are just as expansive as their non-clothing options. You can shop for accessories, toys, outerwear, bags, and all manner of things, really. In addition, unless you missed it, JJJ imports goods from Japan so there are bound to be gems in their collection.

Location: Jalan Jalan Japan, Unit L3 Level 1Shamelin 56100, 032, Jalan Wangsa Perdana 1, Au 3, 53300 Kuala Lumpur

JBR Bundle

JBR Bundle’s choices is so…vast. It’s actually intimidating when you first walk in their store, seeing all those racks with a sea of red hangers. But, what makes it daunting also makes it perfect for gem hunting. To anyone interested in collecting any kind of apparel, JBR Bundle is a must-visit place. It would take you hours sorting through a quarter of the store, but then again, isn’t that the joy of thrifting?

Location: JBR Bundle, 40, Jalan, Persiaran Industri, Bandar Sri Damansara, 52200 Kuala Lumpur

Baden Baden Bundle

If you’re partial to western-based clothes, Baden Baden Bundle can probably offer you the most extensive collection of thrift from the United States. They also import from Australia and Japan, so there’s plenty of variety in your options. They often post on their socials, so you know if a restock is coming soon, and based on the big bags of clothes they get, they take restocking seriously.

Location: Baden Baden Bundle, Lot 3 5, 4, Jalan Genting Kelang, Danau Kota, 53300 Kuala Lumpur

OKGO Store

Stylists all over the world owe a lot to places like OKGO Store. This is where styles are made and remade. Their lookbooks don’t miss, as do their collections. When it comes to contemporary fits, OKGO Store has the expertise and the right pieces if you want to stand out. In the end, there’s far too many clothes to love in this store for us to single out one collection. Drop by if you want to know what’s up.

Location: OKGO Store, 17A 1st Floor, Jalan SS 18/1b, 47500 Subang Jaya

Luxury Vintage

Luxury vintage is all about that affordable (kind of) luxury life. Their goods are usually restricted to bags, but then again, what else is a bigger fashion hit these days than a good clutch? The store has a serious lineup of bags, wallets and everything in between that you would be hard-pressed to shop anywhere else.

Location: Luxury Vintage, 114, Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur

Bundle Preloved

It’s very rare to see a thrift store like Bundle Preloved that specialises in a single kind of clothing: winterwear. They’re an even rare breed considering they are in Malaysia, a place that doesn’t have anything close to winter. Still, though, Bundle Preloved know their winter clothing really well and their collections go beyond the quill jackets. There are stylish options, as well as headgear and even bottoms if you want to pair your new snow-conquering jacket.

Location: Bundle Preloved, F5-2, Bukit Jalil Signature Office, Persiaran Jalil 1, Bukit Jalil City, Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur

Family Bundle

Sometimes, you shop because you need new clothes. Family Bundle can offer the next best thing to new clothes: a whole outfit for a fraction of a price of a brand-new top. Even in their KL branch, which is a bit smaller than their other outlets, you have plenty of options for tops and bottoms. Don’t be surprised to come out with more than one new fit to put in your rotation.

Location: Family Bundle, 94, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur

Vintage Moonriver

Vintage Moonriver is a thrift store in the most traditional fashion. Operating from an actual flea market, this store specialises in great fashion finds from the early aughts to the ‘90s. Keep an eye on their socials if you want to see their latest drops. They often have pieces that are worthy additions to your collection.

Location: Vintage Moonriver, Lavman MBPJ, PJ Flea Market, Petaling Jaya

Wonder Bundle Enterprise

It’s worth taking the drive to Wonder Bundle Enterprise, which is in PJ. But, where else have you seen a thrift store that specialises in heels and shoes in general? Footwear are in abundance here, and they are waiting for new owners to love them. More than that, though, you can probably cop a pair of shoes here for every occasion, and if you want to put on your best foot forward for less, this is where you need to go.

Location: Wonder Bundle Enterprise, A1-12 Sphere Damansara, Jalan PJU10/9, Petaling Jaya
