Malaysia, Singapore, & Thailand Among 50 Best Places for Remote Workers
Since the pandemic, working from home has been a common practice in workplaces. Years later, this setup is still being implemented despite the restrictions lifted, revolutionising how employees work.
To determine which countries are the best in terms of accommodating remote workers, the recently released Global Remote Work Index 2023 (GRWI) ranked 108 countries according to four metrics: cyber safety, economic safety, digital and physical infrastructure, and social safety.
In the ranking, it was unveiled that Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand are among the top 50 countries for remote workers, nabbing the 28th, 41st, and 49th places, respectively. Singapore garnered a GRWI score of 0.776, Malaysia had a total of 0.706, while Thailand earned a 0.654 score.
Meanwhile, Singapore topped the list in the digital and physical infrastructure category with a score of 0.900
Leading the overall ranking is Denmark with a GRWI score of 0.847, followed by the Netherlands and Germany. Among Asian countries, South Korea emerged at the 17th spot, while Japan landed in the 22nd place.
