Zhuhai-Macau Ferry Island Tours to Launch in August, Says MGMTO Chief
If you need a new travel destination, this upcoming Zhuhai-Macau island tour project may be right up your alley.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, July 9, Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said ferry routes between Macau and some islands in Zhuhai will soon be launched for tourists in the short term by August.
Featuring leisure activities, water sports, staycations, and more, the routes aim to meet public demand for “diverse tourism products” and boost tourism partnerships with Zhuhai and other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Senna Fernandes also told reporters that this will play a huge role in promoting Macau’s multi-destination tourism products and travel experiences.
Zhuhai comprises 146 islands where resources are abundant.
The Dong Ao Island, for instance, occupies a 4.62-square-kilometre land that’s home to seaside resorts offering event receptions, recreations for families, private yacht rentals, and other leisure activities. Wailingding Island, on the other hand, is popular for its beaches and scenic spots like rock carvings and a stone park.
