Macau's FDC Launches Subsidy Grants for TV Producers, Filmmakers

Macaus FDC Launches Subsidy Grants for TV Prods Filmmakers

Aimed at promoting Macau’s tourism and creative industries, the government’s Fundo de Desenvolvimento da Cultura (FDC), also known as the Cultural Development Fund, has unveiled two subsidy grants for television producers and filmmakers in the region.

Called the "Subsidy Scheme for the Dissemination and Distribution of Cinematographic and Television Works with Macau Elements” and the "Subsidy Scheme for Film and Television Filming in Macau,” the programmes will support film and TV productions with elements of Macau or those filmed in the city, FDC said in a press release.

Up to MOP250,000 will be given to projects that feature “Macau elements,” while up to MOP2 million will be provided for works filmed directly in Macau.

Projects to be considered for the grants include documentaries, films, variety shows, soap operas, advertisements, and music videos. Meanwhile, animated works will not be vetted, FDC said.

Applications for the two grants will be honoured until Nov. 29 via FDC’s website. However, the application period may end early if the overall budget is exhausted.

A clarification session will also be held on March 4 to answer the applicants’ questions and concerns. To register for this session, go here.
