Philippines’ and Thailand’s Beaches Among the 50 Best Beaches in the World
Nothing beats the feeling of sunbathing under a warm, golden sun with the soothing sound of waves gently crashing against the shore and the soft touch of sand between your toes. If you love traveling and checking out beaches in different parts of the world, check out The World's 50 Best Beaches.
Famous for beautiful pristine beaches, the Philippines has two of their local destinations included in the list. Ranking fourth on the list, El Nido’s secluded Entalula Beach boasts “striking limestone cliffs that provide a stunning and dramatic backdrop to its white, sandy shores.” The island can only be accessed through boat rides and is often not visited by vacationers – making it a perfect spot for bonding with nature and escaping the waves of tourists here and there.
Meanwhile, the Bon Bon Beach in Romblon placed 45th on the list. Although underdeveloped, the beach is nothing short of a paradise. With a unique natural sandbar that can be seen during low tide, tourists can easily access Bangug Island while enjoying the view and walking across the shallow, crystal-clear waters.
Also included in the list is Thailand’s Freedom Beach, which took the 23rd spot. Offering a quiet retreat to tourists, its waters are clear and calm, which makes it perfect for swimming. This “hidden gem” stretches over 300 meters, with soft white sand nestled between jungle-covered hills and the bright blue water of the Andaman Sea, and is only accessible through a small boat or a 25 to 30-minute trek through the lush jungle.
Aside from those mentioned above, several Asian beaches made it to the list – including Indonesia’s Pink Beach (7th) and Kelingking Beach (39th), Myanmar’s Horse Shoe Island (10th), and Japan’s Aharen Beach (13th).
