Month-Long Singapore Food Festival to Make a Comeback This October
Heads up, foodies! An exciting culinary journey awaits you this October, as the Singapore Food Festival (SFF) will be making its return this year, featuring over 20 events across various venues in the city.
Themed “A Celebration of Old and New,” this year’s SFF 2024, happening from Oct. 1 to 31, will celebrate the timeless culinary traditions of the old days and the breakthrough innovations of the modern culinary world. These range from intimate dining experiences in the city’s best restaurants to vibrant pop-up events that will surely pique your taste.
The festival will, of course, feature SFF’s signature events to be held at iconic venues. This includes Future Food, happening on Oct. 10 at the Marquee Singapore, which will showcase a traditional dining experience coupled with modern mixology techniques from various top chefs and high-energy entertainment.
The Long Table will also be happening from Oct. 17 to 18 at the CHIJMES Hall, which will feature an elegant “long table” experience with a four-course lunch menu and a six-course dinner menu from chefs Damian D’Silva, Marvas Ng, and Cheryl Koh. Meanwhile, Food is Art, to be held on Oct. 19 at the Digital Light Canvas by teamLab, Marina Bay Sands, is a gallery-style exhibition that will showcase the connections between food and art with displays like intricate chocolate sculptures from renowned pastry chef Janice Wong, and more.
The 2024 edition of SFF 2024 will hold unique events, which aim to blend culinary creativity with immersive storytelling. This includes a special menu at fine dining restaurant Yantra, which will celebrate the cultural ties between Singapore and India; an offering of Singaporean-Malay cuisine at Harummanis; a teahouse experience at Path; and a sustainability-meets culinary artistry experience at LeVel33; and a celebration of Southeast Asian spices and Western cuisine at Jiak Kim House, among others.
For those who would love to join in the fun with their families and loved ones, SFF 2024 is also holding pop-up events at the Digital Light Canvas by teamLab in Marina Bay Sands and select CapitaLand malls, where visitors can enjoy bite-sized samples from top chefs and more.
This year, the festival is also introducing its new lineup of ambassadors, which includes Chef Damian D’Silva, representing heritage; Chef Akmal Anuar, representing contemporary; and Chef Janice Wong, representing innovation.
All of these and many more await at the SFF 2024! To see the full list of events or to purchase your tickets, visit their official website.
