‘Peaky Blinders’ Is Confirmed to Be Getting a Movie with Cillian Murphy

If you are unsatisfied with the ending of the popular Netflix series “Peaky Blinders,” we’ve got some good news! Dust off your flat caps and gather the gang as the streaming giant announced that the series will be getting a movie – by the order of Peaky Blinders.
Like what Tommy Shelby said in “The Company” episode: “There’s no rest for me in this world. Perhaps in the next.” Well, Cillian Murphy feels the same. Reprising his role as the Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby, Cillian will also co-produce the said film.
“It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Murphy told Netflix. The actor expressed pleasure in re-collaborating with Screenwriter Steven Knight and Director Tom Harper for the film version which they dedicate to the show's fans.
According to Netflix, the production is set to start in September this year continuing the multi-award-winning, six-season gangster saga. While the details about the plot and the cast are still being kept under wraps, Knight previously said that it would be set during World War II.
“It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full on Peaky Blinders at war,” says Knight.
Peaky Blinders is a six-season drama series based on the exploits of a gang in the 1900s in England. The series follows the story of the Shelbys after World War I, a gang family who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps. Led by Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, they aim to build a criminal empire. The series took its final blow in 2022.
With several nominations and awards including accolades from the British Academy Television Craft Awards, Irish Film & Television Awards, and TV Choice Awards, the show was surely a hit.
