August 29, 2023
50 years ago, the world witnessed Bruce Lee soar to international acclaim with the iconic martial arts adventure film ‘Enter the Dragon’. This year, as the legendary film celebrates its golden anniversary, fans have another reason to rejoice. Bruce Lee Entertainment, helmed by the legendary martial artist's daughter Shannon Lee, is set to debut an anime series, ‘House of Lee,’ in 2024.
Marrying action and fantasy, the series will follow Bruce Lee in his quest to gather his Dragon Warriors to combat a looming force of darkness, a premise inspired by one of Lee's profound quotes, “Those who are unaware they are walking in darkness will never seek the light.”
While the anime is bound to be action-packed, it promises a deep dive into Bruce Lee's spiritual and humane dimensions, celebrating the facets that made him more than just a fighter.
“Anime is an amazing medium for telling a truly creative story where Bruce Lee can be Bruce Lee. I’m so excited for the possibilities for action, fantasy, history, culture, and creativity within this medium,” remarks Shannon Lee to Deadline.
This unique project is a collaboration between Bruce Lee Entertainment and Shibuya. They two have engaged the community through a crowd-funded campaign to support the production, highlighting the House of Lee series’ independent roots.
As fans around the world anticipate its release, the ‘House of Lee’ anime is shaping up to be a monumental tribute to the martial arts hero, ensuring that his spirit, philosophy, and action continue to inspire generations.
The series is set to be available for streaming via Shibuya in 2024. Stay tuned for details on premiere dates and more.
