It’s only going to get hotter in Bangkok this April.
The popular Chilli Fest is once again happening at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok on Apr. 5, 2025. This annual, fiery hot festival brings all the top chefs and restaurants from all over Bangkok and Thailand all in the name of chilli, with exclusive chilli-inspired dishes up for tasting!
Now in its third edition, the Chilli Festis promising an even spicier experience with 14 of Thailand’s top restaurants and famed chefs offering their spiciest bites for tasting, and a lot fierier entertainment and festivities lined up!
Famed chefs and restaurants are all lined up to give you an experience that’s both savory and scorching hot for your taste buds. For example, ZAABNIRAN’s Chef Ton will be serving up robust and spicy flavors with three types of Thai chillies in their signature Mixed Dry Noodles, ANJU’s Chef Shim will be showcasing a fresh take on traditional Korean flavors with their Buldak Sotteok-Sotteok and Mala Chicken, and 80/20’s Chef Tav will be showing how he fuses Thai flavors with modern techniques with his Red Curry with Chicken and Jasmine Rice and Pig Cheeks & Trotter Larb Nuggets.
Other restaurants, such as Ministry of Crab, Rangoon Tea House, Sababa, Sabio, and more will also be showcasing culinary favorites from other countries and cultures.
The highlight of the festival is the Chilli Eating Contest, where the bravest of the brave (or the ones that love pain) are invited to join in! Basically, contestants must show their resolve and eat hot chilli peppers whose spice level will go up to 2,200,000 Scoville heat units. The last one standing will be the ultimate winner. Remember that time when Gordon Ramsay was flying all over Asia? Just a month ago, he announced during his visit to the Philippines their plans to open new restaurants in the country. This stop in Bangkok, however, is because of another launching — talk about busy and booked!
Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant franchise Bread Street Kitchen & Bar has opened its flagship branch in Bangkok’s ICONSIAM. It is the second Bread Street Kitchen & Bar location in the Thai capital, with the first located in Emspherein the EM district.
The opening was made possible with its partnership with local distributor Tanachira Group, with the outlet’s industrial warehouse-style décor being inspired by the London flagship, St. Paul’s. The dining area at ICONSIAM includes banquette seating, floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and an open kitchen giving guests a view of how their food is prepared by the chefs.
The outlet also offers a private dining room seating 12 guests, and an outdoor seating area with views of the river.
Located on Level 3 of ICONSIAM, a landmark boasting views of the Chao Phraya River, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar offers British cuisine and “world-class culinary experiences” to Thai customers and showcases the best of the multi-Michelin-star-awarded restauranteur’s dishes, such as his world-famous Beef Wellington (THB4,500), Fish & Chips (THB750), and the Sticky Toffee Pudding (THB250).
Some dishes are exclusively available in the ICONSIAM branch, such as the Slow-cooked Massaman Beef Cheek (THB790), the BSK Seafood Platter (THB5,500), BSK Poke Bowl (THB490), and the Harissa-roasted Half Chicken (THB590).
The bar boasts talented mixologists crafting an incredible menu of curated cocktails, including the classic Ramsay’s G&T (THB390).
