Chinese enterprises, industry experts, government representatives, and more have gathered at the recently held Huawei Cloud AI Summit Thailand 2023, aimed at establishing Thailand as a regional hub for artificial intelligence (AI).

To achieve this goal, Huawei Cloud and Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) have signed an agreement to strengthen the country’s AI initiatives. The partnership will give support to Thailand’s projects, talent cultivation, and ecosystem building, among other efforts, Huawei said in a press release.

At the summit, Huawei Cloud also unveiled a range of cutting-edge AI solutions created with the needs of Thailand’s technology industry in mind. This includes models slated to help the country’s finance, retail, language, government, and meteorology sectors.

According to Huawei, these models can be used to make government processes more efficient, remove language barriers, and enhance the digitisation of Thailand's agricultural and tourism sectors, among other functions.

“By building a robust digital foundation in Thailand and constructing AI infrastructure for the government and enterprises, Huawei Cloud is empowering the nation to harness the transformative power of AI,” said David Li, CEO of Huawei Thailand, in a keynote speech at the summit.
