HIIT It With High-intensity Workouts From These Four Gyms in Bangkok

Have you ever heard of high-intensity interval training (HIIT)? Yes, the name alone sounds daunting, so expecting a cakewalk from a workout with such a name would be naïve.
HIIT is a form of cardio workout that's done in short, intense bursts to work up your sweat. It then slows down to give you a momentary break, only to be followed by another high-intensity workout.
WebMD said that with HIIT, one can do it without having a lot of equipment through running, using a stair-climbing machine, rowing, and the like. Although intense, HIIT workouts can also help one save time since one does not have to exercise as long as compared to exercising at a steady pace.
Ready to work up a sweat? Here are four gyms in Bangkok where you can join HIIT workouts.
BASE
You can't go wrong with this gym, which has been voted as Asia's "Gym of the Year" and "Bangkok's Best Studio," thanks to its signature HIIT and strength classes, as well as data-driven progress monitoring, and a vibrant training community.
Its signature HIIT and strength classes are effective in helping one burn fat and build muscle with the use of equipment like treadmills, rowers and bikes, as well as weights and one's own bodyweight. BASE offers personal training, group class training, semi-private personal training, private group training, pre- and post-natal training, and student and youth training to suit your fitness needs. BASE also offers body composition scans to determine your body fat percentage, weight, muscle mass, and more, to inform your nutrition and training.
BASE has three Bangkok locations, namely in Thonglor, Sathorn, and Langsuan.
Location: BASE Thonglor, Unit 208, Noble Remix 2 Sukhumvit Soi 36, Bangkok
NewMoves
NewMoves is not your ordinary gym. Founded by fitness industry veteran Rob Cook in 2013, this training facility prides itself on offering holistic and personalised training to its diverse clients, whether they are advanced, in corporate, a person with special needs, or just someone who wants to better themselves health-wise. Its services include classes, personal training, and fitness education. Expect a myriad of classes dedicated to weight training, sports performance training, cardio, and animal flow, among others. Its HIIT 30 class is considered its most efficient one, as it comprises 30 whole minutes of extra- intense interval training. There's also its classic H.I.I.T. OUT! class if you're down to get challenged physically and mentally.
NewMoves is open every Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 9:30 PM and every Saturday to Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Location: NewMoves, Maneeya Center Building, Floor 3, Ploenchit Road, Lumphini, Pathumwan, Bangkok
F45
The F in F45 pertains to "functional," marrying circuit and HIIT workouts to give you a sweaty and thrilling experience for 45 minutes.
Its workouts' foci are divided into three, with cardio reserved for Wednesdays, resistance training for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and hybrid, a mix of both, for Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Its functional HIIT classes are "designed to provide a functional full-body workout while improving energy levels, metabolic rate, strength, and endurance." Each class lasts 45 minutes, with the aim of helping you burn around 750 calories per session.
If you're a Bangkok local and new to HIIT, we recommend you try F45's 3 Classes Trial, which is free for residents only, to see if you'll love it.
Location: F45, 199 Thanon Ratchadaphisek, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Khet Khlong Toei, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon
Encore Training Club
This gym follows three tenets: results, commitment, and energy. Although overnight results in fitness are impossible, Encore Training Club promises to transform your body with its workouts, with some class members raving about seeing results after just two sessions. It offers personal training as well as small group classes with its friendly, supportive, and professional fitness coaches who will guide you to achieve your goals.
Its group class, which is limited to six to eight people, focuses on training one's whole body (high frequency training, bodybuilding style) and using a "motivating gradual strength system." A sample for its Encore One workout on Tuesdays will have you focusing on bench presses, with four clusters in all to target strength, upper body, lower body and abs, and conditioning. Intense!
Location: Encore Training Club, Mookda Building 3rd Floor, 78N, S Sathon Rd, Bang Rak, Bangkok
