Holiday Fashion Trends That Can Get You Into the Spirit of the Season

Holiday Fashion Dress

As the holiday lights begin to glow and year-end gatherings fill up your calendar, it’s the perfect moment to refresh your wardrobe with looks that feel festive but still distinctly you.

This season’s fashion trends strike a beautiful balance between celebration and comfort — rich colors, luxurious textures, and effortless silhouettes that let you shine without feeling overdone. Whether you’re heading to a cozy dinner with friends, a glamorous office party, or a family reunion that calls for something a little special, the right outfit can set the tone.

Here are six holiday fashion trends to help you step into the season looking effortlessly stylish.

Rich Jewel Tones

This season is all about meaning and reflection, so adding depth to your wardrobe is a great place to start when thinking about your outfits for the season.

The 2025 holiday season welcomes the return of deep jewel tones. Think deep emeralds, ruby, sapphire, and amethyst. These colors make the simplest silhouettes feel luxurious and add drama without being over-the-top.

You can opt for velvet blazers in rich wine or teal — colors that pop out over dark pants or jeans. Satin blouses in these colors would look stunning at office parties, while dresses in colors like garnet give an elegant flair and can be flattering for many skin tones.

Septieme Rebelle's "Plan B" Holiday Collection 2026 has some wonderful jewel-toned dresses, blazers, and dress pants.

Winter White

White tops

With PANTONE recently unveiling “Cloud Dancer” as the 2026 Color of the Year, expect that many will be wearing this lofty white neutral shade this season.

Embody a white Christmas with an all-white ensemble. You can add depth and warmth to your outfit by incorporating layers of different fabrics or coordinating them with complementary colors to create a balanced and stylish look. If you plan to cloud dance through your Christmas parties, we recommend statement pieces in seasonal colors, like wearing bold red heels, a chunky gold necklace, or carrying an emerald purse.

Filipino designer Andrea Tetangco has a gorgeous white top with long flowing frills that make it look like a dress. The piece from her Holiday Collection is definitely giving this season a touch of glam and elegance. You can find more pieces at her store in Proscenium Rockwell.

Cozy Luxe Textures

This season is all about relaxed silhouettes, so think cozy yet polished. And nothing screams cozy than luxe fabrics like velvet, satin, and rich knits like cashmere.

These fabrics make any ensemble look dressy without being too loud and are great pieces to wear for grand holiday parties or intimate gatherings. You can wear a deep purple velvet blazer over a simple blouse and dress pants and immediately look chic. A soft daffodil satin dress is great for an outdoor party, while a cashmere cape can keep you warm and stylish in the office during the winter months.

You can also go for a mini cocktail dress for dinner parties, like this lovely red sleeveless dress from Plains and Prints’ Mark Bumgarner x Vania Romoff collection, which is made from satin twill.

Fusion Wear

Modern cheongsam

We know you’ve seen those Adidas Tang Chinese New Year jackets all over your feed, and yes — we are here for it! Fusion streetwear is definitely a trend this season — pieces that combine streetwear with traditional Asian elements. Think hooded jackets with Mandarin collars, Kimono-inspired blazers, and graphic tees with calligraphy designs.

Hong Kong-based fashion brand Qipology has some modern traditional Chinese qipao or cheongsam dresses that you can wear for your holiday party. They also have some pretty chic casual pieces for everyday wear, like denim dresses, jackets, and co-ords.

On the other hand, Karimadon's Silk Soiree: Holiday 2025 collection has dresses designed with Filipiniana elements, such as this piece with detachable butterfly sleeves.

Oversized Sweater Dresses

Not only is this season bringing out elegant colors and chic designs, but it’s also highlighting cozy and relaxed fits that are perfect for everyday or even for special occasions.

Long sweater dresses are definitely big this season, providing an oversized, relaxed fit perfect for the cooler months. If you want to elevate this casual look, you can also go for a piece with combined textures like this boat neck jumper from Zara with lace detailing on the asymmetrical hem. You can pair this with a flowing satin skirt and stilettos or go for a sexier vibe with black sheer tights and slingback or baby doll heels. It’s comfort meets glam!

Soft Metallics

Satin clutch
Gemma Satin Crimson | Photo from Website/Judith Leiber

This holiday season, metallics are taking on a gentler, more romantic form. We’re trading the blinding shine for a softer, more luminous glow. Think champagne gold, brushed silver, rose-gold sheens, and pearly satins that catch the light without overwhelming the eye.

Soft metallics bring a dreamy sophistication to any outfit, making them perfect for parties where you want to look polished yet effortless. These hues create a subtle, elegant radiance in photos and under warm party lighting, making them a festive staple across Asia’s holiday fashion scene.

And no, it doesn’t stop at clothing. It also applies to accessories and jewelry, so go for dainty gold chains, brushed silver, and rose gold earrings, or satin-finish clutches give that right amount of sparkle that will elevate even the simplest outfit.

High-End Holiday Gift Ideas for the Ones Who Matter Most

2025 Holiday Gift Guide

The holidays are the perfect time to spoil the people who mean the most to you. And if you’re lucky enough to have a generous budget, or simply want to go all-out for those truly special in your life, luxury gifting becomes an experience in itself.

From statement pieces to curated experiences, the world of upscale gifting offers endless ways to show just how much you care — and will surely delight and leave a lasting impression. If money is no object this season, here are exquisite gift recommendations that will make your loved ones feel cherished in the most unforgettable way.

Dyson Supersonic r™ Hair Dryer

If you're shopping for someone who's always "too busy" to style their hair (read: us, living our messy bun lives), the new Dyson Supersonic r (P37,900) is heaven-sent. While it's technically designed with professional hair stylists in mind, it's still that rare beauty device that makes amateurs feel weirdly competent — the kind of tool that turns a disastrous look into gorgeous and put-together in an instant.

As we have our own experience with the Airwrap, what made the Supersonic r feel different is the size and handling. It's 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the original Supersonic, and you really do feel that in the wrist and arm, especially if you're drying thick hair or doing a style beyond a quick dry. It also has intelligent RFID sensors in the attachments that "remember" the last setting used, so you're not constantly re-setting heat and airflow.

In our experience, that "plug attachment in and go" ease is the best part. The controls and attachment switching feel intuitive, even mid-routine. It's also surprisingly travel-friendly because it's lightweight, but still dries fast — the perfect combo for anyone who's always rushing, always late, or always both.

This is the kind of gift you give when you want to give a long-term investment piece that is ultra-luxury and useful to the beauty lover in your life. You can also share it with frequent travelers and pro and amateur stylists alike. It comes in Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold. You can buy it in store and online.

Cashmere Cardigan

Cardigan

When Landon gifted Jamie a pink cardigan in “A Walk to Remember,” our hearts collectively melted at the simple but heartfelt gesture. If you’re searching for the perfect present for a special woman in your life — be it your mom, sister, or significant other — a cozy cardigan is a timeless choice that brings comfort, warmth, and a touch of sentiment. There’s something about wearable gifts that feels incredibly intimate, as if your loved one is carrying a piece of you wherever they go—an invisible hug wrapped around their shoulders

And if luxury is what you have in mind, nothing embodies elegance quite like cashmere. This piece from K & Company (P12,950) is crafted from light, breathable, and irresistibly soft cashmere, featuring a chic three-button closure that effortlessly elevates any outfit. A beautiful blend of comfort and sophistication, it’s a gift that will be cherished for many seasons to come.

Soundcore Liberty 5 Wireless Earbuds

Everyone has those moments where they either thrive in the noise and music, and those times when they want to put the whole world on mute. Fortunately, the Soundcore Liberty 5 earbuds (P5,995) can give you the gift of both.

One of its most notable features is the Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) 3.0, an AI-powered system that adjusts to your surroundings three times per second — constantly learning about what to hush, whether you're commuting, working, or trying to focus as you savor a cup of coffee in a public cafe. It's a portable "Do Not Disturb" button, except you can still take calls, attend meetings, watch your show, and listen to music.

For sound nerds (or horror film fanatics who live for the tension and dread-building film scoring), it also packs patented Dolby 3D Audio with modes tailored for Music, Movie, and Podcast. In testing, it held up beautifully across different settings and scenarios: office, home, public places, and even on a plane — wherein we experienced the outside noise dropping to almost nothing, if not totally nothing.

We also ran it through a variety of content (games, TV series, films, jazz, pop, instrumentals, even rock and metal), and it stayed consistently solid throughout the gauntlet. The best part? Battery life and reliability. Liberty 5 offers up to 12 hours of playtime (eight hours with ANC on), and after months of use, it converted even the wired-earphone loyalists among us with its zero-fuss features. Oh, and did we mention you can connect it and adjust the settings using its app?

Grab a pair for your loved ones online.

Handcrafted Accessories

Parol Earrings
Photo from Website/AMAMI

You don’t have to give diamonds to make someone happy. Sometimes, it just takes a special handcrafted jewelry piece to make your present luxurious and well thought out.

AMAMI is a social enterprise dedicated to reviving endangered jewelry traditions in the Philippines. The brand focuses on sustainable livelihood for local artisans, all the while celebrating their craft and empowering Filipino artists.

The Golden Parol Shell Earrings (P7,200) are a great choice if you’re looking for something unique to gift to someone while still embodying the spirit of the season. These earrings are created by shell artisans from Cebu who were impacted by Super Typhoon Odette in 2021 to help them recover and rebuild their homes.

Each pair is also made from sustainably sourced mother-of-pearl shells and authentic freshwater pearls. Its worth is also due to the use of a rare art of fine metalwork, where artisans hand-form 985 pure silver, then finish it with 24-karat gold, creating a statement piece that shimmers just like a bright parol. It’s the perfect gift for the person who brings light into your life.

We all have those friends — gym or run in the mornings, take desk lunches, and meal prep in the evenings on top of managing to meet their friends on the weekends or go on quick out-of-town trips. They're the ultimate on-the-go people who never seem to stay still. KitchenAid's Go™ Cordless Personal Blender (P12,990 with KitchenAid Go™ Battery, P8,995 without battery) — the entire Go™ Cordless line, to be honest — is built to support that freedom. Complete grab-and-go energy in a kitchen that's free from cords. As KitchenAid puts it, it's meant to "unlock the freedom to make wherever, whatever and however."

We tried the  KitchenAid Go™ Cordless Personal Blender and immediately got the point. It's compact but genuinely powerful for solo-size blending — smoothies, dips, milkshakes, etc. — and it's especially satisfying for icy or frozen blends thanks to its blade designed for frozen ingredients. Want a mango smoothie in under five minutes after your gym session? No problem. Or if you want to take it to go, there's an included travel lid so you don't have to do the messy dance of transferring from blender to thermos.

For gifting, it's one of those kitchen items that doesn't scream "responsible adult purchase" — it's practical, yes, but it still feels fun. It's a wonderful addition to someone's vibrant, active, and busy lifestyle.

As of writing, it's currently on sale online.

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that let your loved ones choose their own experience. Gift cards may feel effortless, but they’re far from impersonal, especially when they open the door to something truly memorable. Marriott Gift Cards are accepted worldwide across participating Marriott properties and brands, including AC Hotels, Aloft, Courtyard, and more. You can purchase both physical and electronic versions, making it easy to send a holiday surprise straight to their inbox or doorstep — beautifully presented in an envelope or a special gift box. It’s a stylish, stress-free way to give the gift of choice — and a little luxury, this season.

Chicest Flip-Flops to Achieve That Copenhagen Cool Vibe

20250919 Havaianas flip flopsPhoto by Havaianas/Instagram

Flip-flops, although divisive, aren’t necessarily ugly in a sense. In fact, they distinguish themselves in their laid-back charm. Particularly in Southeast Asia, this open-toed, flat-soled sandal has never gone out of style. However, when we think of flip-flops, we don’t always associate them with fashion. It’s just an essential staple of our wardrobe for days when we feel like dressing down — a perfect footwear for the summer, a lazy outfit for some, or what Filipinos often call pambahay (loungewear).

Fashion trends have always been evolving. This year alone, a couple of shoe trends have emerged, ranging from new styles to returning classics, such as ballet sneakers, retro sneakers, clogs, loafers, and more. Then, flip-flops entered the chat, somehow finding their way back into the trend cycle, thanks, of course, to Copenhagen Fashion Week, where flip-flops made a bold appearance, challenging the boundaries of what many consider fashionable.

In this article, we’ll take you through some of the most stylish flip-flops to help you achieve that quintessential Copenhagen vibe.

Havaianas Slim Square Flip-Flop Sandals

Havaianas has always been synonymous with all things summer. So, this might be quite a stretch, but it’s most definitely a crime not to include the brand in the flip-flops conversation. Always at the top of its game, Havaianas offers designs for both female and male consumers, complete with a wide range of styles to choose from, including a classic silhouette, the pointed toe with thinner straps, and more. But one chic piece from the brand is its Slim Square Flip-Flop Sandals, which strays away from the traditional rounded-toe rubber flip-flop design. It is available in three colorways: black, white, and crocus rose.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the laid-back style of Copenhagen, it’s that flip-flops can be paired with fashion pieces, adding a relaxed contrast to your otherwise more fashion-forward ensemble. That said, this Havaianas piece is a go-to choice for simple, comfortable style. You may purchase a pair through Havaianas’ official website.

Ipanema Bossa Soft V Fem Flip-Flops

What’s more, Ipanema is celebrated for its durability, making it not only an added statement to your wardrobe but also a smart investment. And if you're planning on upgrading your summer footwear, Ipanema's very own Bossa Soft V Fem Flip-Flop is a perfect choice. A chic, versatile pair, it is also lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear.

Apart from its lasting quality, Ipanema is also known for its eco-friendly materials, ensuring that style and sustainability go hand in hand. The brand has decided to close its online flagship store, but you can still purchase a pair through Amazon or Macy’s.

When it comes to comfort, Crocs must always be included in the conversation. Known for its lightweight and unique clogs, the footwear company has established a reputation for prioritizing comfort and ease above all else. And the same goes for its Baya Platform Sandals, a stylish yet comfortable option, which elevates any casual outfit while keeping your feet supported all day.

Of course, a pioneer in foam footwear, Crocs has also joined the trend with its very own collection of flip-flops, from bayaband and platform flips to glittery styles, jelly sandals, and more. Even more impressive, you can personalize your pair with Jibbitz charms. Shop now through its official website.

FitFlop's iQUSHION Ergonomic Flip-Flops

FitFlop is also a footwear brand known for its wide variety of choices, including sneakers, boots, loafers, and more. You can also opt to shop by occasion, as they offer work shoes, walking shoes, shoes for special events, and much more. Of course, as a brand aptly named FitFlop suggests, they also offer flip-flops — available in a range of styles designed for both comfort and fashion.

Some styles feature waterproof materials, while others offer more fashion-forward designs. One standout is iQUSHION Ergonomic Flip-Flops, a comfort-focused sandal featuring heel and ball-of-foot impact pillows and high-rebound rubber. It is available in eight designs: leopard print, gold, silver, bronze, black, beige buff, urban white, and midnight navy. You can explore even more options through FitFlop’s website.

Teva is popular for its outdoor-centric designs, seamlessly combining style and practicality. It has always been a trusted companion for those with an adventurous spirit. Teva's flip-flop collection offers a wide range of designs tailored for both outdoor enthusiasts and casual wearers alike, though one standout piece is the Voya Flip-Flop. It is currently available in two options: one is black, and one is a colorful design called antiguous black multi, perfect for quirky fashionistas looking to make a statement. You can shop the full range of Teva flip-flops through its official website.

Ralph Lauren Launches Collab with Indigenous Brand TÓPA

Ralph LaurenPhoto by Ralph Lauren/Website

Ralph Lauren has unveiled Polo Ralph Lauren x TÓPA as part of its Fall/Holiday 2025 lineup, its fourth collaboration under the Artist in Residence program. The capsule brings together Ralph Lauren’s timeless Americana aesthetic with the bold cultural language of TÓPA, an Indigenous-led brand known for infusing tradition into contemporary fashion.

TÓPA was founded by husband-and-wife duo Trae and Jocy Little Sky, award-winning performers, designers, and proud members of the Oceti Sakowin. Jocy is Dakota and from the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nations, while Trae is Oglala Lakota and Stoney Nakoda. Together, they carry forward a family legacy rooted in traditional arts. Known for their meticulous hand-crafting of Pow Wow regalia, they use ancestral techniques like quilling, beadwork, and leatherwork to create pieces that feel both deeply personal and culturally resonant.

“We’ve long admired Ralph Lauren and how the brand brings worlds to life through its designs and storytelling,” said Jocy Little Sky, co-founder of TÓPA. “This collaboration with Polo Ralph Lauren honors our community, culture, and way of life, and we hope it inspires people to be proud of who they are, where they come from, and to follow their dreams.”

In this collaboration, their heritage becomes wearable storytelling, bridging past and present through craftsmanship, color, and meaning. The rugged landscapes of the American West become the backdrop for the brand’s holiday campaign, and amid this scenery is a celebration of family, togetherness, and community that is also reflected in the timeless pieces created in collaboration with TÓPA.

The new collection showcases pieces that blend contemporary silhouettes with Native design motifs across men’s, women’s, and accessories offerings. True to its name, “TÓPA,” which means “four” in the languages of the Oceti Sakowin, the collection draws inspiration from the number’s cultural significance that represents the four directions, four seasons, four stages of life, and the four meaningful colors of red, black, yellow, and white.

More than just clothes, this partnership is woven with depth and intention — a story that was told through a short film that shared Jocy and Trae’s artistry, family life, and cultural celebrations that inspired the designs of Polo Ralph Lauren x TÓPA. It was filmed on the ancestral lands of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nations that are located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota.

A portion of the proceeds for each item in the Polo Ralph Lauren x TÓPA collection will also be donated to Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation (CDC) in support of its Lakota Language and Education Initiative. The Little Skys honor their heritage by learning their ancestral language, and through this collaboration, Ralph Lauren is able to support the preservation of Lakota culture and traditions.

Ralph Lauren’s Artist in Residence program is an ongoing initiative that brings heritage artisans into close creative partnership with the brand’s design teams. The program forms a key pillar of Ralph Lauren’s broader Design with Intent efforts, an initiative aimed at expanding the brand’s portrayal of America and moving beyond inspiration toward genuine collaboration with the communities whose cultures have inspired its designs.

The Polo Ralph Lauren x TÓPA collection is available at RalphLauren.com and at select Ralph Lauren stores around the world. It will also be sold on the official TÓPA website. You can view the collection here.

7 Trending Halloween Costumes for Your Next Spooky Look

HuntrixPhoto by Courtesy of Netflix

Halloween is here! While parties in your area may be just a few days away, there’s still plenty of time to pull together your perfect Halloween look.

Move over, Dracula and skeletons, this year’s costumes are trading jump scares for style. Who says spooky season has to be all about blood and gore, anyway? From pop stars and POP MART toys to beloved film and TV series characters, Halloween 2025 is all about having fun with fashion and creativity. Whether you’re going for funny, chic, or downright fabulous, here are some trending Halloween costume ideas that are as timely as they are cool.

K-Pop Demon Hunters

We’ve been hearing “Golden” nonstop on the radio, online, and even at the local grocery stores, and trust us, every Halloween party this year wouldn’t be complete without a Rumi, Mira, Zoe, or even a Saja Boy in the crowd. “K-Pop Demon Hunters” is debatably the most popular film of the year, and there’s no doubt that kids and adults alike will want to dress up as their favorite characters from the movie.

You can find wigs at your local cosplay stores and put together outfits based on your preferred costume. To recreate the Huntrix’s “Golden” performance look, simply take a white crop top tank, white shorts, and finish it off with a sequined black jacket. You can accessorize with golden jewelry and chain belts or even bedazzle your jackets with gold accents.

For kids, some shops have already rolled out ready-made costumes. Little Vela PH has Rumi’s “Golden” costume on hand here.

Netflix also has some exclusive costume merchandise, like the yellow jacket Rumi wore during “How It’s Done.” Pair it with a white crop tank, denim shorts, and black knee-high boots, and you’re ready to slay some demons!

Labubu

Whether you’re a fan or not, 2025 is the year of the Labubu doll. The little monster created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung has become the face of the POP MART brand, with its sold-out fuzzy bag charms that have made their way to almost everyone’s purses, from famous models to K-Pop idols.

And yes, you can totally dress up as your favorite Labubu for Halloween. The easiest way to transform yourself into a cute monster is to get some face paint, a pair of headband ears, and the fuzziest onesies, fleece jumpsuit, pajama, or sweater sets you can find. Uniqlo has a fleece jacket that’s perfect for the occasion!

KATSEYE

The girl group of the moment, KATSEYE has definitely caught our attention with their catchy music, incredible choreography, charisma, and, of course, stunning fashion looks!

We could probably create a lookbook of their most iconic looks through their eras, which can all be recreated with the right pieces. Want to make a bold statement? Try on a sexy red dress inspired by “Gabriela” or go for a grungy, club-inspired Y2K fashion look for your Halloween bash, like in their “Gnarly” music video. If you want something a little more simple but chic, take over the streets in a stylish all-denim ensemble inspired by their GAP commercial.

“Wicked” Witches

Witches will never go out of style for Halloween. Throw on a black dress and a pointy hat, and you’re done! But do we really want to stop there?

Witches have evolved through the years from various characters introduced in film, books, and television. This year, it’s all about “Wicked” with the musical’s movie adaptation coming out in November. Elevate your witchy looks by dressing up as in pink and sparkles like Glinda the Good, or go all black (or green) as Elphaba Thropp!

This black, high-neckline crinkle maxi dress from ASOS can be the perfect dress to cast a spell or two in. Pair it with a pointy hat and a broom, and you’re off to see the wizard!

Mia Hernandez from “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay”

The K-Drama “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” captured hearts everywhere with its powerful storytelling, stunning cinematography, and unforgettable fashion — especially the bold looks of antisocial children’s book author Ko Mun-Young, played by Seo Yea-Ji.

So when the Philippine adaptation was announced, it was no surprise that excitement followed, especially with beloved actress Anne Curtis stepping into the iconic role. In this localized version, Anne wore a series of gorgeous outfits that paid homage to the original while adding a distinctly Filipino flair.

We particularly loved her modern Filipiniana-inspired ensembles, like the Barong dress and the Filipiniana butterfly-sleeved top paired with a white tulle skirt. If you’re looking to channel your inner “wicked” Mia Hernandez, think Filipiniana with an edge. This modern Filipiniana dress from Camisa Filipina is the perfect piece to enter your kontrabida (antagonist) era in style.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter is no doubt the pop star of the season. After her viral hit “Espresso,” the singer went on to release several more hit singles and a full-length album that won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Sabrina’s aesthetic is feminine and whimsical with a lot of pastel colors and soft details like lace, flowers, and heart patterns. Her most iconic looks are her stage outfits, where she’s often seen in figure-hugging corset dresses and platform wedges that give off a playful, sweet, and sexy vibe.

This ivory bubble hem midaxi dress from Oh Polly perfectly captures Sabrina Carpenter’s signature style with its short n’ sweet length, corset bodice, and V-shaped back adorned with delicate bow accents. It’s a near match to the dress she wore for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve last year! Pair it with lace gloves, shimmering tights, and platform heels, and you’ll be ready to serve pop-star energy all night long.

Wednesday

Wednesday Addams made her long-awaited return this year with the release of Netflix’s second season. With our favorite goth girl back at Nevermore for another semester of dark humor and even darker secrets, her signature look is set to make a comeback this Halloween, too.

Wednesday embodies a blend of vintage and modern goth styles. To recreate her look, choose monochromatic palettes with bold patterns like pinstripes and polka dots. One of her standout looks was the black patterned dress with a sharp white collar — classic schoolgirl with a gothic twist. This big-collared mini dress from SNIDEL channels the same vibe, almost identical to the one from the show — perfect for your Halloween look.

Channel Your Inner Gilmore Girl with These Tropical Fall Fashion Tips

Fall Fits in a Tropical Country

When the -ber months roll in, it’s officially autumn. But in Southeast Asia, that also means the start of the monsoon season.

While the idea of bundling up in cozy sweaters and heavy coats sounds dreamy, the reality of tropical humidity and sudden downpours makes traditional fall fashion a challenge. You’ll either melt under that heat or ruin a perfectly good pair of suede shoes.

But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the season’s signature charm. With a few smart tweaks, you can embrace autumn’s rich colors and cozy aesthetics without breaking a sweat.

Here are some tips to pull off fall fashion in a tropical climate.

Focus on Fall Colors Over Fabrics

The golden rule is to tell the truth, and the truth is, you don’t need to wear wool or cashmere to look autumnal. Instead, lean into the fall palette.

These are the earthy tones, like camel, rust, olive, terracotta, and chocolate brown, and the neutrals like beige, cream, taupe, and black. You can also go for deep hues like burgundy, navy, forest green, and plum.

Even lightweight cotton or linen pieces in these shades can immediately give off a cozy fall vibe. An asymmetrical sleeveless top paired with rust-colored trousers makes for a perfect tropical autumnal look.

Go for Light Layers Over Heavy Ones

Autumn brings in cooler winds, but in this part of the world, the downpours only make it even more humid. Since it’s too hot for coats and thick sweaters, opt for more breathable, thin layers to create dimension, mimicking those chic autumn layers. Remember: Layer for texture, not warmth.

Some examples include lightweight blazers or jackets, crochet or open-knit vests layered over camisoles, and sheer long-sleeve blouses layered under slip dresses.

Styling Tip: It’s still okay to wear warm pieces like sweaters and long-sleeved tops. But to attain maximum comfort in a tropical climate, it’s best to mix these warm-weather cuts with fall styling. For example, wear short skirts with long-sleeved blouses; midi dresses with structured vests or belts; or shorts with oversized blazers and loafers. Balance is key when styling for fall in the tropics. If one part is covered up, keep another part breezy.

Choose Fall-Inspired Prints and Textures

Another great to is to choose fall-inspired prints and designs. Even in warm weather, prints can easily set the tone.

Autumns are often associated with plaid, checks, dark florals, and houndstooth prints in muted or warm tones. You can also play around with texture. Cardigans and light long-sleeved blouses with waffle or ribbed textures give off that cozy look without the bulk.

Boot Up!

Who says you can’t wear boots here? While sandals and slippers might be the footwear of choice in the tropics, it’s not necessarily the most sensible choice for long walks and sudden downpours.

It’s best to go for boots made from breathable, lightweight materials like faux leather, suede, or canvas. Ankle or Chelsea boots are ideal since they capture that autumn vibe without trapping in heat. You can also try cut-out or sock-style boots, as both feature thinner fabrics that make them perfect for tropical weather. Just avoid styles with faux fur linings; those are designed to keep your feet extra warm.

Balance is also key when styling boots in warmer climates. Since they tend to be on the heavier side, pair them with breezier pieces to keep your look light and effortless. Think flowy midi dresses, mini skirts with oversized shirts, or relaxed cotton trousers — combinations that strike the right mix of cozy and cool.

It also helps to know when and where to wear them. Boots are perfect for air-conditioned settings, cooler evenings, or rainy days. For the last situation, make sure to choose water-resistant styles so you can stay stylish and practical.

Accessorize strategically

Accessorizing properly doesn’t just complete a look; it elevates it. When it’s too warm for layering, your accessories, hair, and makeup become your secret weapons. With the right styling, even the simplest outfit can feel seasonally chic, cozy, and effortlessly breezy.

Some timeless fall accessories include gold-trimmed jewelry, structured bags, and statement belts. For bags, lean into earthy hues like tan, chocolate brown, and deep green. You can also play with texture. Think woven leather totes, suede headbands, or tortoiseshell sunglasses to subtly capture that cozy fall feel.

One of our favorite styles? The suede hobo tote. It’s cute, roomy, and perfect for city errands or a quick café run for that sweet cup of pumpkin spice latte.

If you love hats, go for lightweight berets, bucket hats, or fedoras in felt or canvas. And while it’s too warm for cashmere or chunky scarves, a lightweight silk scarf can do the trick. Tie it around your neck, ponytail, or bag handles.

Autumn beauty is all about warmth and depth. Try copper, bronze, or burnt-orange eyeshadows; terracotta or plum lipsticks; and a soft, candlelit flush for your cheeks.

For hair, embrace effortless styles like loose waves, low messy buns, or claw-clip updos — that perfectly undone, windswept look. And if you’re in the mood for a color refresh, go for warm browns, chestnut, or copper highlights that glow beautifully under golden light.

With these finishing touches, you’ll see that it’s not layers or cashmere that make you fall-ready. It’s the mood, the colors, and the confidence that bring the autumn aesthetic to life.

Everything’s Gnarly: How to Cop KATSEYE’s Fashion Looks

20252908 KatseyePhoto by KATSEYE/YouTube

We can describe all things KATSEYE with one single word: Talent? Gnarly. Stage presence? Gnarly. Their style? Guess it: Gnarly. The global girl group took the world by storm last year with their debut single, aptly titled “Debut,” and they show no signs of slowing down, releasing one hit after another. Their recent Gap commercial, where they dance to Kelis’ “Milkshake” sporting the brand’s latest collection, proves there’s only one word to describe them — and no, it’s not “gnarly.” Iconic is more like it.

Formed through The Debut: Dream Academy, which is available to stream on Netflix, the girl group — composed of members Manon Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Rajagopalan, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung — has quickly established itself as one to watch. True enough, beyond their fierce performances and hit tracks, they’ve also become what many consider one of this generation’s fashion icons.

Wishing to pull off some of their looks? First off, you’re not alone. Second — and here’s the good news — you don’t need a designer budget or an extensive shopping spree to emulate their style. All you need is to channel their personal, standout flair with a bit of confidence and creativity on the side. Here’s how you can cop KATSEYE members’ iconic fashion looks.

Manon

Frequently spotted in low-rise jeans and oversized vintage graphics, Manon — a Ghanian-Italian — balances her look with minimalist touches like mini skirts, dresses, and crop tops. And who could ever forget her iconic waist beads, a nod to her Ghanaian heritage? With a clear affinity for 90s-inspired style, Manon brings a timeless yet modern edge to the group’s fashion lineup.

She often plays with contrasts, blending androgynous staples like oversized vintage tees or baggy jeans with more feminine pieces and accessories. To channel her vibe, opt for slightly distressed denim and muted tones, like a true fashion icon straight out of a ’90s magazine. And you don’t exactly need waist beads to mimic her look; a subtle nod to your own heritage would be just as stylish.

You may try some key pieces from Zara, which caters to trend-forward fashion lovers, from oversized vintage-inspired tees to low-rise, wide-leg denim staples. Waist beads are often available in online marketplaces, but you may also want to check out some on Etsy for a more creative, handmade one.

Sophia

A standout from Manila, Philippines, Sophia knows her proportions to a T, often exuding elegance and sophistication with soft femininity to it. Perhaps the most polished of the group, Sophia gravitates toward heels, skirts, and knee-high boots, sometimes with a futuristic touch, without losing the simplicity of it all. She is what we can describe as simple yet impactful, and far from bland. The girl knows she is no vanilla, and her style strikes a balance between simplicity and refinement. She has a style that is sometimes difficult to master, as it’s often a skill to combine both, but one that is entirely feasible.

Keep everything balanced while staying true to Sophia’s signature polish. Footwear can also transform an outfit, so invest in a pair that can instantly elevate your look. And don’t be afraid to play with futuristic accents to add a modern edge. Charles & Keith has all the pieces you need to complete Sophia’s look, from knee-high boots and accessories to bags and more. Uniqlo also offers comfortable and simple yet chic basics to pair with that elegant footwear.

Daniela

Daniela Avanzini from KATSEYE

Hands off, Daniela. Everything she touches, she gives it a fiery flair. Daniela, of Cuban and Venezuelan descent, is known for her effortless allure. Her signature style? Not trying too hard to be that girl — she simply is. Often seen in crop tops and tees, she occasionally experiments with clothing that accentuates her figure. She prioritizes comfort over fashion, yet somehow always looks effortless, striking, and stage-ready.

This one might be tricky, as effortless confidence is what defines her vibe. Our suggestion: don’t overthink it. And if you have the figure, don’t be afraid to highlight it. Play with textures and eye-catching details while keeping comfort in mind. Daniela’s secret lies in simplicity paired with statement pieces, so avoid overloading your outfit and let at least one piece truly shine.

You may find some looks in Cotton On and H&M, both of which offer comfortable and trendy pieces that prioritize comfort without sacrificing overall style.

Lara

Much like Manon, Lara also brings her culture into her style, always honoring her Indian heritage by wearing a bindi, all without making it look forced. And she knows she’s fierce — and she acts like it. She often plays with silhouettes, rocking crop tops, cargo pants, denim, and jackets. Most often, she’s also not afraid to show off her figure. Lara dresses to express both her sexual identity and her culture, making every outfit a statement.

Lara has always been boldly expressive. Everything she wears is true to herself. It’s always unapologetically Lara. And you can cop her style as well by being unapologetically you. Don’t forget to let your personality shine through every outfit, as fashion, as is always the case, is a form of self-expression — and Lara does it with complete confidence. But, if in case, you want to nail Lara's style, Pull & Bear does offer a wide range of pieces, whether you're feeling a bit edgy or alluring.

Megan

Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Megan thrives on unconventional style and eccentricity. Put her in a room of 100 people, and she will most definitely stand out. Even in a group full of fierce personalities, she can truly dress herself up without maximum effort. She is also not afraid to experiment with her hair, as we all know it’s our crowning glory — and she makes it count. Mismatched, edgy, bizarre, and experimental pieces often come together to create a complete Megan look. Above all, it’s her individuality that truly defines her style.

Mix unexpected patterns and textures, and don’t forget to take a risk while keeping it effortlessly cool. Make it a feast for the eyes, all while keeping it comfortable to wear. And, of course, don’t be afraid to experiment with your hair. A pink strand? A choppy fringe, perhaps? Gnarly.

To pull off Megan’s bold and eclectic style, you may opt to shop at Lazy Oaf, which is known for its quirky prints and playful designs, as well as Urban Revivo, which has established a name for itself for offering a wide range of stylish apparel.

Yoonchae

Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, Yoonchae is the full embodiment of K-Pop style: trendy and playful. She mixes bubblegum aesthetics with experimental silhouettes, often sporting pleated skirts and varsity jackets — think classic K-Pop schoolgirl concept. She might be the maknae of the group, but could she also be the most fashion-forward? While keeping most of her outfits age-appropriate, she frequently balances innocence with a touch of mature, edgy flair.

Like Megan, Yoonchae also likes to experiment, though her style stays unapologetically K-Pop. She tends to keep it light always — cutesy, if you will. And if you’re a huge K-Pop fan, her look might be the most fun to emulate. Don’t hesitate to opt for denim-on-denim, or choose that pastel color any day. Plaids also never go out of style, and it might be a statement pattern to try.

Uniqlo offers everything you need to pull off a casual-chic Yoonchae look. Meanwhile, Gap is a fantastic choice for versatile basics and trendy pieces that perfectly capture the fun and fresh vibe Yoonchae effortlessly embodies.

Hong Kong’s Thrift Scene Is Booming: Here’s Your Guide to Shopping Smart

Image

Thrifting isn’t just about scoring a vintage t-shirt or a worn-out leather jacket anymore because it’s now a global movement. In recent years, second-hand fashion has officially stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight, thanks to a mix of sustainability awareness, economic shifts, and the undeniable influence of social media. From social media trending videos to online resale shops, the culture around pre-loved fashion is thriving, and Hong Kong has never lagged behind.

There’s something satisfying about discovering and owning a one-of-a-kind piece that is so rarely see

Abundant in luxury malls and fast fashion frenzy, the city is now home to a growing ecosystem of thrift stores and vintage boutiques, especially with the presence of the indie scene’s "thrift shop anthem," Mee & Gee (美之) by N.Y.P.D. (南洋派對). Whether you’re a fashion student hunting for Y2K gems, a minimalist looking for timeless basics, or just someone who loves the thrill of the find, Hong Kong’s thrift scene always has something for you.

And honestly, there’s something satisfying about discovering and owning a one-of-a-kind piece that is so rarely seen. It’s a style with a story that feels just right.

Where to Thrift: From Bargain Bins to Luxe Finds

Old But Gold's previous thrift market

Like its culture, Hong Kong’s thrift scene is basically diverse, offering a rich mix of styles, price points, and shopping experiences from bargain bins to curated luxury.

For budget-friendly treasure hunts, Mee & Gee stands out as a local staple, with multiple branches across the city offering racks of vintage imports at unbeatable prices. Midwest Vintage caters to fans of American classics like denim and cowboy boots. If you’re after a boutique vibe without boutique prices, Retrovert in Mong Kok delivers a clean, curated experience with a focus on sustainability and youth empowerment. And for those who love the thrill of the hunt, Old But Gold hosts pop-up thrift markets and swap parties that bring the community together.

On the more curated and upscale end, 2nd STREET, a Japanese vintage chain, has recently come to the city to offer a polished shopping experience in Mong Kok with quality second-hand fashion. HULA and Brand Off specialize in authenticated designer goods, with HULA’s warehouse in Wong Chuk Hang and latter's multiple branches offering everything from Chanel to Hermès at steep discounts. The Redress Closet in Sham Shui Po blends fashion with purpose, selling second-hand clothing to support sustainability education.

Meanwhile, Salvation Army Family Stores provide accessible secondhand options across 15 locations, with proceeds going to community services. And while OnTheList isn’t a thrift shop, its weekly flash sales on premium brands, occasionally up to 90% off, make it a must-know for savvy shoppers looking for deals on designer fashion.

And don’t forget Carousell, the online marketplace where locals sell everything from thrifted Zara to vintage Dior. Just be ready to scroll and negotiate. Also, keep an eye out for pop-up thrift markets around cultural hubs like PMQ, The Mills, and Heath, perfect for one-off finds and local sellers.

How to Thrift Like a Pro

Thrifting comes with a little strategy

Thrifting takes a little strategy if you want to walk away with something you’ll actually wear. So, first rule: timing is everything. Weekday mornings are your best bet with fewer crowds, more gems, and fewer elbows in the racks. And you have to dress smart, too. Skip the layers and go for something easy to slip in and out of, especially since many shops don’t have fitting rooms.

Once you’re in the zone, train your eyes to scan for textures, patterns, and labels rather than staring at every item. Check seams, zippers, and tags because while a missing button is no big deal, a broken zipper on silk might be a dealbreaker. And just because something’s cheap doesn’t mean it deserves a spot in your closet. Ask yourself if you would wear that tomorrow. If not, leave it for someone else. For online thrifting, always ask for extra photos and measurements. If the seller disappears when you ask about a stain, then that’s probably your answer.

How to Clean Your Thrifted Finds Without Ruining Them

Thrifting is fashion without rules

Scoring a vintage denim jacket and a silk blouse from the ’90s is a win, but before you wear them out, they need a little care.

Start by inspecting each piece for stains, odors, or damage. Empty the pockets and check for any care labels that might still be hanging on. If you spot mystery marks or musty smells, pre-treat with a baking soda paste or soak in vinegar and cold water for half an hour.

When it’s time to wash, be smart about it. Cotton, denim, and polyester can handle a gentle machine cycle, but silk, wool, and lace deserve a hand wash or a trip to the dry cleaner, while leather and suede are for spot cleaning only. Add white vinegar or laundry sanitizer to disinfect, and for delicates, a few drops of tea tree oil in the rinse water can do wonders.

Always air dry unless you want your vintage find to shrink. And if it still smells off after all that, hang it outside for a day. Hong Kong's humidity might not be ideal, but fresh air never hurts.

Authenticity Checks for Designer Pieces

Authenticating secondhand designer pieces is a mix of instinct, inspection, and a little bit of “close enough.” If you’re thrifting for luxury in Hong Kong, start by checking the stitching. High-end brands don’t do messy seams, so look for tight, even threads. Hardware matters too: zippers and buttons should feel solid, and logos are usually engraved, not slapped on.

For bags and accessories, serial numbers or authenticity cards are a good sign. If they’re missing and the price feels suspiciously low, trust your gut. You can also compare the item with official product photos online to spot differences in logo placement, lining, or tag design. Still unsure? Services like Real Authentication and Authentifier.com can verify items through images, usually within a day.

And sometimes, you just have to go with the vibe. If it looks good without a logo, feels good, and doesn't cost a lot, maybe it doesn’t need a certificate to earn a place in your wardrobe because style isn’t always about the label.

Alteration: Making Second-Hand Fit Like First Choice

Alteration service is easily accessible in Hong Kong

One of the most overlooked secrets in thrifting is this: a great piece doesn’t have to fit perfectly off the rack. Whether it’s a vintage blazer with boxy shoulders or a pair of jeans that are just a little too long, a simple alteration can transform a “maybe” into a wardrobe staple.

Because tailoring isn’t exclusive to formalwear, and it’s a tool for personalizing your thrift finds. Hemming pants, taking in a waist, adjusting sleeve lengths, or even cropping a shirt can make a second-hand item feel custom-made. And in many cases, the cost of alteration is still far less than buying new.

If you’re unsure whether a piece is worth the tweak, look for quality fabrics and construction. Natural fibers like cotton, wool, and linen tend to hold up well through tailoring. Also, check for seam allowances, extra fabric inside the garment, which gives tailors room to work.

Thrifting is about discovery, and alteration is about refinement. Together, they let you build a wardrobe that’s not only sustainable but uniquely yours. So next time you’re on the fence about a fit, you should just consider a trip to your local tailor.

Thrifting Is a Lifestyle, Not Just a Shopping Hack

Every piece you pick up most probably carries a story

Lastly, thrifting in Hong Kong isn’t just always about saving money or owning a rare and vintage item. It’s also about slowing down, choosing consciously, and finding joy in the unexpected. Whether you’re digging through bins with a bunch of "enemies" or scrolling Carousell at 2 AM, every piece you pick up most probably carries a story and, soon enough, will become part of yours.

So go ahead, try that oversized blazer, mix and match your wardrobe, and experiment with textures. Thrifting is fashion without rules, and in a city that’s always moving, it’s a way to reclaim your style on your own terms.

Happy thrifting!
