Malaysia Joins SK and UAE With the Fastest Median 5G Download Speed

Based on reported data from Ookla from The State of Worldwide Connectivity in 2023, Malaysia is among the countries that topped the list with the fastest median 5G download speed, along with South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This marks a great achievement for the country, with a reported speed of 485.24 Mbps in Q3 2023, despite launching its 5G network less than two years ago.

It is also this year that Malaysian companies have come together to begin the trial to launch the world’s fastest 5G connection.

Remarkably, Ookla recorded a global improvement in terms of 5G connectivity and a shift in top-performing countries, in which the UAE claimed the top spot, surpassing South Korea, and in the top 10 list, Malaysia is among the countries that have made significant strides.
