Kita Orang Art Fair 2023 Highlights Local Artists and Sustainability
Kita Orang Art Fair (KOAF) 2023 is more than just an exhibition; it serves as a platform for local artists to showcase their sustainable creations, reflecting boundless creativity. Spearheaded by Alice Chang, the owner of Lai Lai Art Gallery, this year's KOAF aims to transcend traditional boundaries and achieve a meaningful purpose. The event consists of two distinctive art exhibitions.
The first exhibition is called the "INK|DUST|REAL Group Art Show," which features sculptures by various local artists, including Chang's own creations. It showcases the artistic talents of the local community, highlighting their unique perspectives and skills.
Meanwhile, the second exhibition is the "Affordable Art Showcase," which presents a diverse collection of over 100 reasonably priced artworks spanning various themes. This exhibition caters to a wide range of artistic tastes, ensuring that there is something for everyone to appreciate and enjoy.
Sustainability is a central theme of the KOAF 2023 exhibition. Various institutions have collaborated to create outdoor installations that emphasize sustainability. One notable installation is a Malaysian flag crafted from upcycled 'old-school' ribbons of varying lengths, symbolizing the nation's diversity and the importance of repurposing materials.
Kita Orang Art Fair 2023 is open to the public until Sept. 12 and is located on the rooftop of Avenue K Shopping Mall. Visitors can explore the exhibitions, admire the artworks, and support local artists while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the rooftop setting.
