Hennessy Ties Up With Fashion Designer Kim Jones, Holds Gallery Until May 7
French cognac producer Jas Hennessy & Co., or more simply known as Hennessy, and international fashion designer Kim Jones released a special collaboration to celebrate the brand’s 150th anniversary. This is a first for both the spirits brand and the designer, and the public can get a glimpse of them until this weekend.
Kim Jones, the artistic director for Dior Men’s ready-to-wear and accessories and FENDI’s couture and women's wear, is bridging the gap between cognac and couture by “ushering a new direction for Hennessy X.O.”
The new limited-edition collection will feature a collectible sneaker called the HNY Low, which was inspired by early basketball shoes; a revisit of the X.O Masterpiece carafe (200 pieces only), which was produced using 3D printing technology and finished by hand; and a “ready-to-wear” version of the Hennessy X.O bottle, which is draped in an aluminium second skin.
“I’m fascinated by the rich heritage of Hennessy, a household name behind which artisans have spent hundreds of years creating this special cognac,” Kim Jones was quoted as saying.
“Storytelling is very important for me regardless of what I’m designing or who I’m collaborating with – I want my designs to educate and inspire people through the stories they tell,” he added.
The Hennessy X.O x Kim Jones Gallery is at Level 3 (Orange Zone), Pavilion Bukit Jalil until May 7. Click here to register. The event is strictly for non-Muslims and individuals 21 years old and above. For more details, visit Hennessy’s website.
