60-Minute Feasts: The Manor, Contemporary European at St Regis Macao
Restaurant snapshot: The Manor is St. Regis Macao’s sole restaurant, shines above many options in The Londoner complex for its unique approach to sampling all corners of the European continent with light plates, designed by Chef Michele Dell’Aquila.
Vibe and venue: Airy with its high ceilings and luxurious with a gold, beige and light brown interior. The Manor breathes life into the St. Regis, appropriate for any celebration of life or a moment of relaxation to enter the world of dolce vita.
Value for time & money: The Manor prices it’s bespoke breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings fairly with consideration for the experience befitting for one of Cotai’s premium choices for European cuisine. Each three-course lunch can be selected, served and finished in one hour.
Menu highlights: Our group of four dined on the “Let's do Lunch in Spring” seasonal meal, which cleverly fused Italian, French, and Spanish elements and ingredients into a concise three-course meal, using ingredients sourced directly from Europe.
What we tasted: In our seasonal meal, I enjoyed the Veal Tenderloin, Australian Wagyu Beef Striploin, and Yuzu Tart (MOP438 with beef choice).
Hits & misses: Each dish performed well in unison with the lunch meal, however the veal demanded a creamier sauce to pair with the beefy flavours, not as vinegary and sharp than the traditional recipe. The wagyu cuts were perfect for the fruity, medium-rare lover.
The midday must-have: Among the à la carte options at The Manor, the Macao-inspired Glacier 51 Toothfish, a delightful blend of sea and land featuring toasted pork and roasted fish, stands out.
Final verdict: Beyond Portugese and French restaurants in the Cotai strip, The Manor offers a balanced selection of plates and platters applicable to all occasions for lunch. It's our preferred choice for our next visit to Cotai and a favourite among many international guests
