Macao Alternative Music Festival 2023 Hosting Diverse Music in Aug, Sep

The Macao Alternative Music Festival is set to return in 2023 for its third consecutive year. It will showcase fresh talent from the Macau music scene, and present diverse artists from across Asia and the globe, featuring events that blend mystical and powerful audio and visual elements.
Co-organised by the Macao Contemporary Music Association (MCMA) and Guia Experimental, Macao Alternative Music Festival 2023 will span from August 6th to late September. It will host musical performances from local and international artists across various venues in the Special Administrative Region (SAR) of Macao.
Similar to 2022 and 2021’s Guia Festival, the revamped festival will feature avant-garde performances, as well as minimalist, interdisciplinary, improvisational styles and experimental theatrics.
Highlights of the festival include the welcoming of Swiss scientist-artist Daniel Maszkowicz, harnessing the power of sound synthesis with eye-popping visual effects using his "Tesla Coil” machine.
The festival's first chapter will kick off on Sunday, August 6th, with the experimental theatre and Daniel Maszkowicz’s show, with subsequent chapters taking place weekly thereafter. Pre-sale tickets for the city-wide festival will be available starting July 22.
