Macao International Fireworks Display Contest Returns from Sept 6 to Oct 7

After a three-year hiatus, the 31st Macao International Fireworks Display Contest is making a grand comeback. Organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), this iconic event will feature 10 breathtaking fireworks shows by companies from around the world.

From Sept. 9 to Oct. 7, residents and visitors alike will witness a magnificent display of pyrotechnic artistry that will invigorate the community and captivate all who attend.

The contest, celebrating three decades of history, will feature 10 extraordinary fireworks shows, each lasting approximately 18 minutes. These spectacular displays will take place on Sept. 9, 16, 23, and Oct. 1 (National Day) and 7.

Fireworks companies from Asia, Europe, and Oceania, including Australia, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, the Philippines, Japan, China, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Germany, will compete against each other.

For those looking to experience the fireworks from different angles, five vantage points are recommended, including the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre to the Leisure Area of Kun Iam Statue Waterfront on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the waterfront at Macao Science Center, Anim'Arte NAM VAN, Avenida de Sagres (next to Mandarin Oriental, Macau), and Avenida do Oceano in Taipa.
