Ebe Dancel to Perform All-Sugarfree Songs in 'Sa Wakas' Anniversary Concert

Multi-award winning hitmaker and OPM icon Ebe Dancel will treat his fans to a campus-themed fair and concert titled “Sa Wakas: The 20th Anniversary Celebration.”
The event will take place on Jan. 28 (4:30 PM) at 123 Block, Mandala Park, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. It will be filled with classic anthems featuring full-length, all-Sugarfree set, with special participation of Mitch Singson, and guests Johnoy Danao, The Itchyworms, and Cheats.
As of writing, VIP tickets and VIP + Vinyl ticket bundles are already sold out, but regular tickets (P1,300) are still available via Backspace Records.
Aside from music and performances, concertgoers can also enjoy exclusive food and fair booths as the gates open at 3 PM. The amusement venue will also have carnival games, arts and crafts booths, record and book stores, and other immersive activities.
“At the core of ‘Sa Wakas’ is nostalgia shaped by bittersweet memories and adolescent discoveries,” GNN Entertainment Productions PR and Marketing Director Ian Urrutia said in a press release on Jan. 3.
“We want to honor the impact of Sugarfree’s debut album by reliving the simple joys of going to college or university fairs with friends, family, and loved ones. Looking back doesn’t have to be getting stuck in the past. Sometimes, it’s okay to experience the old times with fondness and a different perspective as it gives new meaning to these memories. We’re finding means not to reimagine ‘Sa Wakas,’ but to celebrate it: a record that feels like a tight embrace at the end of the dark days,” he added.
Dancel was the former lead vocalist of OPM band Sugarfree from 1999 to 2011. After leaving the group, he pursued a solo career and has since released two albums titled “Bawat Daan” in 2015 and “Baliktanaw” in 2020.
