BMW's Smart Vehicle i Vision Dee Makes Its First Appearance in Singapore

A car that can wink, smile, or have a conversation with you? Luxury vehicle manufacturer BMW turned this into a reality with its i Vision Dee (mononymously called Dee) car, which was recently introduced to Southeast Asia through the “BMW Joy Electrified” showcase at Suntec City Atrium in Singapore on July 27-30.

Singapore is Dee’s fourth stop, following BMW’s previous showcases in Germany, the United States, and China. At the event, registered attendees had the chance to see and experience the smart car in person, as well as test-drive BMW’s range of electric vehicles, such as the BMW iX, BMW iX3, BMW i4, and BMW i7.

DEE, which stands for “Digital Emotional Experience,” is BMW’s futuristic sedan that is equipped with smart technologies to enable it to converse with people, express various moods, and show different facial expressions. It can also project a digital avatar of its driver on its side window to give its user a more personalised welcome view.

In a press release, BMW Group Asia said that BMW i Vision Dee showcases the full potential of digitalisation and how it can transform the car into an intelligent companion. “It demonstrates what is possible when hardware and software merge and is about the perfect integration of virtual and physical experiences,” added managing director Lars Nielsen.
