Prada Expands Into Beauty Space With New Makeup, Skincare Collections

Prada is ramping up its presence in the beauty space with a fresh line-up of cosmetics and skincare unveiled today, joining a slew of other luxury fashion houses that have branched out to the same cut-throat market.

Complementing its existing personal care collection of fragrances and lotions, Prada’s newly dropped beauty products include lipsticks, eye palettes, cleansers, serums, and face creams rolled out under its “Rethinking Beauty” campaign. Starting at US$100, the eye palette products in the Dimensions collection combine three neutrals and one eccentric accent for a final look that can yield four finishes: satin, soft matte, hyper matte, and meta foil.

Meanwhile, Prada’s Monochrome lipsticks are said to be lightweight and last between six and 12 hours. Prices start at US$40.

In unveiling its new beauty venture, Prada described the collection as a “fusion of technology and creativity” that transforms “pigments to pixels.”

Prada’s move is in lockstep with existing ventures of other luxury powerhouses, such as Gucci and Chanel, which have both dipped their toes in the market for premium makeup products.
