8 Designers to Watch Out for at Thailand Fashion Week This November

This season’s Thailand Fashion Week is right around the corner ready to give your dose of dazzling runways to champion Asia-Pacific designers.
To be held at Bangkok's Varavela on Nov. 29-30, the event will feature the Spring-Summer 2023 collections from new and popular designers of Haute-Couture, Ready-To-Wear, Avant-Garde, accessories, and footwear.
Around 14 designers (including teams and solo) will grace the runway along with their models to showcase their creations. To get you clued in, here are eight designers to watch out for at Thailand Fashion Week! For the complete list of designers, check out our coverage here.
Ivan Trần

Ivan Trần is a fashion designer from Vietnam who will showcase his collection as the official designer opening show for the Spring-Summer 2023 collection of Thailand Fashion Week. He gained popularity after joining Project Runway Vietnam in 2015, during which he created unique and futuristic designs.
He also participated in Thailand Fashion Week AW22-23 last July featuring his “Truc” collection, which incorporated bold hues, modern silhouettes, and cutting-edge designs. He is also the first-ever designer to present LGBTQ+ masterpieces at Thailand Fashion Week.
This year, he has already participated in three other international fashion weeks: ASEAN-Korea Fashion Week in Busan, Korea; Artober CIMB Fashion Week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and India Fashion Week Australia in Melbourne, Australia. After Thailand, he will jet off yet again for the Dubai Jewelry Fashion Week slated for Dec. 6.
In an interview with Harpes Bazaar Vietnam on Nov. 4, he revealed that he’s currently focused on developing new designs for his Hoa Trang Collection to cater to fashionistas from local and foreign communities.
Liz Enriquez

Liz Enriquez, originally from the Philippines, is a fashion designer who specialises in designing wardrobe essentials for women. Liz also curates bespoke and custom-made fashion pieces and modern Filipiniana ensembles for weddings, debuts, and other special occasions.
Her creations have been worn by several notable personalities including Miss Universe Albay Janela Joy Cuaton, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo, Filipina actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Miss Grand Philippines 2020 Samantha Bernardo, to name a few.
Hengki Kawliarang

Hengki Kawlarang is widely recognised as one of the most talented and successful fashion designers in Indonesia. She is best known for hosting the fashion show "Amazing Borneo," which raised money for the benefit of disabled children. The event, which was aimed at promoting Indonesia in the United States, took place at Times Square in New York City in 2021.
She worked together with "Flo Natalin" to exhibit the traditional spotted yarn batik that is native to Central Kalimantan. Her Miyaz’s Raya Collection 2022, on the other hand, features elegant Muslim wedding dresses and fashionable modern hijabs.
Nguyễn Hùng Bảo

Nguyễn Hùng Bảo is a fashion designer from Vietnam who studied fashion design at Van Lang University. His design motifs are usually inspired by the beauty of nature.
While he was a third-year student, he participated in Top 10 Sakura Collection Vietnam 2019 and created a “quite massive” entry for the competition, featuring an ensemble inspired by the breathtaking scenery of Sapa terraces.
He is the brains behind the 20-kilogram lotus flower gown that Miss Eco International 2022 Tran Hoai Phuong wore during the competition. The Vietnamese designer used environmentally friendly fabrics and pieces for the costume’s accoutrements, paired with wooden shoes.
As part of the Ngu Ho Pop-Up, he was also responsible for designing the National Costume for Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 Do Trinh Quynh Nhu.
AUREI LÚA Australia

AUREI LÚA Australia is a womenswear brand that aims to empower its wearers through its “Return to Repurpose” initiative, featuring eco-friendly and sustainable luxury clothing. Fashion designer Tamika Sewell officially launched it in May 2022 to address sustainability challenges in Australia’s fashion business.
Located in Melbourne, this fashion brand is comprised of a small team that manages the firm out of a modest studio. The brand sources its garments from local and small businesses.
Tamika has her roots in Victoria, Australia. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Design (Fashion) and a Graduate Certificate in Design. During her younger years, she was taught the significance of preserving the natural environment and she has incorporated this concept extensively into her creations. Her aesthetics is a mix of nature and loose luxury, bridging the gap between fashion design and sustainable practices.
Jef Albea

Jef Albea is a Filipino international designer and stylist who is dedicated to fashion photography and fashion show events. He showcased his creations in major runway shows such as London Fashion Week 2017 and New York Fashion Week 2018.
His fashion career stemmed from his passion for theatre acting, which allowed him to design costumes for stage plays. He also designs wedding gowns, evening wear, and ball gowns, as well as outfits of popular celebrities in his homeland in the Philippines.
Zsa Zsa Padilla, Vina Morales, Morissette Amon, Maja Salvador, Alma Concepcion, Maine Mendoza, Rachelle Ann Go, and Lea Salonga are just few of the celebrities he has dressed.
He also joined the roster of fashion boutique owners in Dubai by opening his own shop, flaunting his creations mixed with theatrical flair.
Lenny Hartono

Jewelry and fashion designer Lenny Hartono is the proprietor of modeling firm Stars Model Look based in Bali, Indonesia. She manages fashion modeling among kids and teenagers.
Aside from being a mother and a successful fashion designer, she dominates the world of music and released her single titled “Don’t Ever Give Up” in August 2022. The song was inspired by her personal experiences that led her to become the successful entrepreneur she is today.
This year, her “A Thousand Dreams” collection was featured at CIMB Artober Fashion Week in Malaysia. She represented her hometown through dazzling Indonesian traditional costumes for women, featuring batik patterns and silk clothing.
Don Cristobal

Don Cristobal is a fashion designer and entrepreneur from the Philippines. Known internationally for his work, he served as Vice President for International Affairs and Chair of Media Affairs of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines.
In 2020, his creation for the Miss Grand International competition, worn by Miss Grand Japan, won the Best National Costume. The following year, he also designed the 2021 Little Miss Universe Best in National Costume worn by Miss Philippines.
On June 11, he presented “Pride – a Decade of Fashion, The Don Cristobal Runway Show Season 10” in line with the celebration of LGBTQ+ Community Pride Month, the Philippine Independence Day, and his 10th anniversary in the fashion industry.
