2. The Figuration of Parasitic Bouquet

Head over to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) this Tuesday for the opening of “The Figuration of Parasitic Bouquet,” a contemporary art exhibit featuring works made with Thai colour lacquer painting. The technique uses a combination of coloured powder and clear lacquer paint, where overlapping layers are applied until the medium becomes a beautiful and unique painting. 4. Art Night With Tina

Capture the beauty of roses in this watercolour floral workshop by Tina Wang, an artist who studied visual arts at Hong Kong Baptist University and illustration at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. This workshop is the latest part of her Southeast Asia sketching tour, so feel free to join if you’re up for a relaxing evening of sketching. Slots are still available via Ticketmelon. 6. Vegetarian Festival

The streets of Thailand will be filled with greens starting this Saturday as the country celebrates the Vegetarian Festival. Also known as The Nine Emperor Gods Festival, this 10-day festival is a Taoist celebration where the Chinese community abstains from meat and other negative stimulants, believing it will bring them good health and peace of mind. Restaurants in Phuket and Bangkok’s Chinatown (Yaowarat), in particular, will display yellow flags to show their participation, so be on the lookout! Click here for more information.
