Hong Kong Offers One of the Worlds Cheapest Internet Plans Study

Hong Kong has one of the most affordable internet plans in the world, Picodi said in a report that analysed the Wi-Fi speed and costs in 85 countries.

A 100 Mbps plan in the city costs US$20.20 per month on average, putting it in the bottom half of the ranking. The study noted that the 100 Mbps plan is the most common bandwidth offered worldwide. Of the 85 countries surveyed, 74 offered this option.

While Hong Kong is amongst those nations where the 100 Mbps plan is available, local ISPs usually offer the 500 Mbps bandwidth, which is priced at US$48.90 per month on average, according to the study.

The cheapest 100 Mbps option was recorded in Russia (US$5.60), followed by Ukraine (US$6.10), and Romania (US$6.40).

Meanwhile, Norway topped the list at US$79.4, followed by Iceland (US$62.10), and Australia ($61.80). To read Picodi’s full report, go here.
