November 21, 2022
Hong Kong’s greatest international art festival is back in March 2023, as Art Basel returns with its largest show since 2018 with 171 galleries from 32 countries and territories, an increase from 2022’s 130 exhibitors.
Marked as the first event hosted since Hong Kong lifted its mandatory COVID-19 hotel quarantine restrictions, Art Basel will welcome a host of international arts moguls and drivers to Hong Kong from Mar. 23 to 25, 2023.
Featuring 21 first-time exhibitors, hailing from China, France, Italy, Nigeria, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and South Africa amongst a global squad, the 2023 edition of the international arts fair is to be led by the new event Director Angelle Siyang-lee, previously head of development of Greater China at Art Basel.
“I am truly honoured to be appointed to lead Art Basel's show in Hong Kong. Together with my colleagues and the broader Art Basel community, I look forward to further strengthening the show's position as Asia's premier fair,” Angelle Siyang-Le said.
“Likewise, I am excited to work closely with the city's vibrant cultural community to reinforce Hong Kong's position as a leading cultural hub. We are delighted to welcome back our international exhibitors and patrons to our show this March and to shine a global spotlight on the city.”
