Fermenting Hong Kong Festival: A Weekend of Funky Foods & Tunes in Sai Kung

Formerly a vintage public school playground from the 1950s, the site promises a fascinating, diverse experience as it morphs into a lively dance floor.

The festival's refreshments offer an exploration of fermented foods and beverages, tantalizing your palate with unique flavours that seamlessly blend tartness, umami, sweetness, and zest. In addition to the main attraction, a free-to-enter Fermentation Market presents a broad range of delights such as kimchi, sauerkraut, kombucha, craft beers, and more, with many vendors being Hong Kong-based. Collaborating with three esteemed local electronic music brands—TruffleENT, Neoncity Records, and NoManZone—the festival showcases an incredibly diverse lineup of DJs. Music enthusiasts will revel in the sounds of various genres, including House, Techno, Dubstep, and Future Funk, with a touch of Japanese Fusion, Psytrance, and more.

Sunday features the artists in a Silent Disco format, ensuring a noise pollution-free environment in the open-air Sai Kung venue. This innovative approach allows attendees to dance in harmony with the crowd while fully immersing themselves in the intricate layers of the music.
